Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose BTech in Computer Science Engineering (Core) as I had a keen interest in the subject but I still wasn't sure which specialisation was the best for me so I opted for core Curriculum is outdated so you'll have to gain the real world skills yourself The first year is mostly comprised of Subjects like Physics Chemistry etc which aren't relevant at all and should be removed Frequency of exams is every 2 months and difficulty level is moderate 6/10

Internships Opportunities

3

Most internships are cracked by the students on their own the top companies cracked by the students were Amazon JP Morgan With stipends of over 1 lakh They worked on AI projects and worked on their core skills and networking to grab these opportunities

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for internship and placements in the 6th Semester Most offers are made by Mass Recruiting Companies like TCS Wipro etc and offers made are on a average 100-250 Highest was 62LPA and average is around 4.5LPA Percentage of students getting placement is low around 50% I'd like to score a high paying job or work on my ideas for a startup

Fees and Financial Aid

I'll be paying around 3.2 Lakh per annum for my course contingent upon if I'll be able to keep my scholarship others it's over 4 lakh I got a 20% scholarship through an internal exam conducted by the university Tuition fees is around 4 lakhs then theres a one time payment of 25 thousand and other charges of 21 thousand per annum There are scholarships available on merit the criteria for btech was 75+ in PCM subjects for a 10% scholarship the highest internship offered is 50% Then there's home state quota and scholarships for girls and defence quota etc

Campus Life

3

Grafest is the main annual event of our university and all the big stars come and perform in it namely Badshah, Mohit Chauhan etc and technical events are held monthly by the student societies Accessibility of books is good Facilities are good but outdated and the Wifi is bad Sports and extracurriculars activities offered are good but cramped up due to the huge student intake They're mainly Student Run societies or club and all the events are organised by them they're good as they help the students meet people with the same interests and help other in their goals plus it counters loneliness

Admission

I applied to Scaler School of Technology, Chitkara University, UPES, I got a confirmed admission form from all of them but I had to choose GEU because it was the nearest to my hometown and was forced by my parents into it No I didn't get a rejection but my parents didn't agree for them Admission process is just to fill up the form and pay the fees the eligibilit criteria is 50+ in 12th for btech but even Lower is accepted through donation, colleges conducts their own exam GECET and it's the exam preferred by students the cutoffs are low and mostly students cheat in it. The Overall Admission experience is smooth

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is 1:80. Faculties are approachable and mostly friendly Madhavi Vishnu Madam carries a friendly and productive vibe throughout her lectures and even the long lectures don't feel tiring Himanshu Rai Goyal he's an egoist and isn't approachable he'll Roast you over the smallest of things, he told us to switch off our phones before he comes to the class or he'll take them away and we'll need to call our parents to take it back They're our 2 exams in a semester mid sem and end sem the difficulty level is 6/10 and a small amount of students fail to clear it Curriculum is fairly relevant as they're working on your hard and soft skills but they do lack to keep up with the current technologies

Night Life

2

Nightlife is bad it feels like a curfew after 9 Gym is closed at 8pm cafeterias around 8 as well as the library public areas are available till 9 Campus timings are 8am-6pm and hostel 6am-9pm Buddha Temple Clement town Happiness Hut Snacksy Quick bite cafe Locality is safe but it's scary to roam at night as there's no one on the road

Students become eligible for placements in the 7th sem. Recently, Visa visited our college but didn’t make any offers. The highest package in 2024 was 84 LPA, while the average is around 4 LPA. Nearly 80% of students get placed across different companies. After my degree, I plan to build strong tech skills and aim for a good software developer role.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum at graphic era hill university as highly relevent and fairly comprehensive because it include all the essential subjects like data structures ,operating system , database management systems etc.the combinatiin of both practical abd theory subject can help student to gain real word knowledge and can also achieve technical skills, the curriculum could be improve by adding more hands on industry projects , live workshop and update elective options that focus on current technologies ,exam frequency is well structured with one mid semester and one end semester , the exams are moderately difficult .

Godrej, Infosys and likewise tech and non-technical companies which have decided to have some AI engineers in their ranks are coming to our college. Also since our college don't have such big strength like the private universities have and therefore placements final figures may be small but in all, our percentage of placements are better and higher than those of the private universities.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are quite bad as only a few companies come to our college for placement drive . Students becomes eligible for campus placement from the 3rd year onwards . Companies visited like TCS , HCL and some other not much popular companies visited but this year placement is very low . Our college also fake advertising about the placement they advertise the interships also as placements. 10 to 20 percent in BTech CSE are getting only Placement. I don't know what I will do after getting degree but currently I am doing a side by side diploma from IIT Roorkee to get some extra knowledge and skill improvement for better placements.

Oracle, Microsoft, DeShaw and almost every company which needs IT services have looked upon GEU because we are trained that way. This is the reason our median has gone up and this year was a breakout year for placements for GEU as over 15-20 students were hired for packages of over 40 LPA.
