Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choosed the course because of my interest in electrical and the faculty of electrical is very supportive about innovations and experiments, the curriculum here is based on the new education policy, they also teach financial literacy and english fluency which prepares you for the real world , they could improve the syllabus little bit ,it is slightly outdated . The midsem exams will be around mid October and end sem exam will be around mid December

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is around 235k per year which is going to be 259k next year as per the fee structure, and there is fee waiver scheme in which the fee concession can be availed on the basis of annual income of parents , 50% fee concession is offered when the annual income is between 4 to 8 lakhs , 90% fee concession is offered if annual income is less than 4 lakhs , you have to submit some documents as per the bulletin of information that is released by college every year

Campus Life

3

The annual fest conducted here is named spandan which is a cultural fest which is generally held in February. The books facility is very good as we have the access of central library. Technological provisions are not that much high level there is only a projector , sports facilities is also not that much good , du sports council is not that much active , some senior students are creating clubs and societies as the college is new , so it will take time to establish and it's impact on student life is not that much good

Admission

As a student in the Electrical Engineering program at the Faculty of Technology (FOT), Delhi University, my decision to choose this college was based on a combination of academic ambition, the university's esteemed reputation, and the promising curriculum of the newly introduced B.Tech course. The factors that influenced my choice over other institutions, such as Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), were primarily the DU brand name, the practical curriculum, and the more attainable admission criteria for my rank. Comparison with other colleges My college search led me to apply for admission to some of Delhi's premier technical institutions, including DTU and NSUT. Curriculum: FOT’s B.Tech curriculum was a significant draw. The program, designed under the New Education Policy, offers a strong balance of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on lab sessions using modern equipment. This contrasts with the sometimes older syllabi found at established institutions. Reviews of DTU, for instance, note a decent but not exceptional curriculum for electrical engineering, with some difficult exams and strict passing criteria. FOT's updated labs, featuring expensive and new equipment, were also a compelling factor. Infrastructure and Campus Life: This is an area where FOT currently lags behind. While DTU and NSUT have well-established, sprawling campuses with extensive facilities and vibrant student life, FOT's classes are currently conducted in a temporary building within the DU North Campus. The new permanent building is under construction, and until its completion, dedicated campus life, including hostels, sports facilities, and events, is limited. However, FOT's location on the larger DU North Campus still provides access to a diverse student body and a broader university atmosphere. Placements

Faculty

Faculty here is just wow , the teacher are very supportive and highly qualified and experienced, most of them are from DTU/NSUT , In course we have to study IEEE, PHYSICS, MATHS,FCP,DSC in the first year, the end sem is of 90 marks , and the midsem is of 30 marks

Night Life

5

We have the access to du sports complex and there is gym and sports club and we also have the access of central library of delhi university. Cafeteria is there in each college of the north campus, we can go anywhere. Fot has also its own departmental canteen. Talking about the public area so it is also there in which students of faculty of law also interract with us. , there is not hostel for us , there are many famous places like faculty of arts, tom uncle maggi point , sudama chai wala, night life is great here,

Other Applied Colleges

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College - [AKGEC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Information Technology)

Because of government and the du tag helps a lot , alumni network is also very good and the professors and infra here is top notch

Placement offers are not that good, like if you're pursuing other courses than btech so the placement is good but in btech, tech companies don't come that often, so you have to develop your skills during your academics and apply offline for job.

Currently what a job require and what we are being taught in the college, totally different. We have to study separately for preparing job because in our course curriculum, importance skills aren't taught and the frequency of exam throughout the year is too much. We don't get enough time for preparing jobs. We need less frequency of exams throughout the year so that we can prepare for a job.
