Course Curriculum Overview
- The course curriculum was specifically based on giving more knowledge and insights about the course I chose. I went onto specialization and chose microbiology and learnt that it has various other fields because of the curriculum. - The course and lab prepares well for the real-world applications. - There should have been more hands-on experience with some lab equipments and some teachers should have given more guidance to the students. - Frequency of exams and difficulty level was good. No complaints about that.
Fees and Financial Aid
For the first year in M.Sc. Microbiology, I paid Rs.71,240 and for the second year I paid Rs.65,625. The total course fee for 2 years was Rs. 1,36,865. Campus Life
All the festivals were celebrated in our university. Campus life was really good. A large variety of books were available and the library was accesible to all till 8 PM. LAN connection was provided in every hostel room and in Library systems were provided for students with no access to laptops. Sports event was held every semester with multiple games to play. There were certain departments that had clubs and groups. There was acting and drama group too.
Admission
- I chose this college as being central university and established and goverened by the Government of India, they offer a wide range of courses with very affordable fee structure, good infrastructure and really good faculties. - When I applied for other colleges for masters, the plus point with this college was its fee structure and distance from my home. - I applied to Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Lovely Professional University, Amity University but all of them had a fee structure more than the one I chose. I got selected in each one of them and even got scholarship but still the fees and distance from home were the main reasons, I chose this one. - There is an exam called CUCET conducted for admission in all the courses provided by central universities all over India and based on the merit, we get a spot. They have seats reserved for SC, ST and students from J&K.
Faculty
- One faculty for every subject for 30 students in a batch. Faculties were good and always available for problems related to studies and otherwise too. - The faculties I liked most are Dr. Chandra Sekhar Gahan, Dr. Akhil Agrawal, Nidhi Pareek. They were always available for help. They made the subjects they taught look so easy. They mentored me. - My project guide Arvind Pratap Singh. He was not available during my project duration. He didn't let student do things on their own and explore. He always wanted to make people do things his way and he used to search the topic he was going to teach 5 minutes before the class from wikipedia and spend a whole hour on that. - We had 3 internal exams of 20 marks each, every semester and one Semester exam at the end of 80 Marks. In internal exams, the marks of best of two were considered.
Night Life
We had a time boundation and we had to reach our hostels till 8 PM. But now it has been increased to 10 PM. Cafeterias had a variety of food. SInce the university is bulit in a very large area, we had a lot of space to walk or go for cycling, socialize with students fromm other departments.
