Course Curriculum Overview

3

CBME curriculum :- Competency based medical education is being followed here. That is what they say but when exams are announced they give portions which have not even been taught. The curriculum is not of much use. Major improvements have to be done like letting the students read the topic and then discuss the topic can be done. iPad access in class is not allowed in our classes. If seen they will confiscate it and never give it back.

Internships Opportunities

3

1 year compulsory internship has to be done in the hospital to get your degree. The stipend is very less. It ranges somewhere between 10k and 15k. They document it as 40k but we get 10 or 15k only. One day a month we can take leave after which we get extensions. If you miss 1 day, you have to work for 2 days. Plus our stipend money is also cut

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee differs according to which category you are in. If you come under SC/ST/OBC you have reservations. If you are in general there are no reservations. Government seat is almost 60k per year. If you get a private seat it is 10 lakhs If you get a management seat it is 1.8 crores.

Campus Life

3

In the last 3 years only one fest was held. If you are the person who love fests and other extra curricular activities then this is not the college for you. Even if you are going for any workshop related to medical field they won't give you ODs. You have to take holiday and go. Books in the library mostly are outdated books. They don't care about your mental health over here.

Admission

I applied for MVJ, Oxford medical college, Sapthagiri Institute of Medical science and Akash medical college. The patient inflow and teaching was better is what i heard and chose this college but reality is different. Admission process is Via the KEA. We have to go through the counseling process and once the process is done over there we are supposed to go to the college and after a mandatory fitness checkup we have to finish the admission process within 4pm of the next day.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is good. There is one teacher for atleast 20 students. Pathology faculties are really good as they understand our situation and help us out in studying. There is a healthy teacher student relationship in the Pathology department. 1st year faculties are mostly not good except for one professor in biochemistry who teaches really well. Being in 3rd year the PSM faculties are not good as they use unwanted words for something not very serious. Forensic medicine faculties are also very strict. There are 3 internal exams which has to be given even if we are not well. Most of them fail to clear the internal exams. Nothing to worry as you just need to prepare well for final exams.

Night Life

3

No gym facilities in this college. Cafeteria food is actually not good. Library the own books reading room is open till 8pm from monday to Saturday. Hostel in time is at 8pm maximum. If you are taking permissions to go out then you have to take it 1 week in advance and it depends on the warden's mood to give permission of not. There are malls like phoenix marketcity, Nexus shantiniketan and park square mall to go to. The surroundings are not too safe at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
