Life at NSUT

1st year subjects are not that relevant aside from Digital Logic Design and Mathematics. What is taught is highly comprehensive and the study material provided by the course instructors is good. One class test is held before the midsem exam and the other class test is held before the endsem exam. Internal marks are also considered in the final result and is awarded differently as per different subjects

1st year students are not awarded internship opportunites directly from the campus however if they develop the skills they can apply off campus to get a certificate. Clearing hackathons held by companies can also lead to an internship opprtunity. Official internship opportunites are offered in the beginning of the third year by the college. Compnie such as google, amazon, uber, microsoft etc approach the campus of interns.

After getting alloted a seat, you will need to pay a fee of INR 95,000 in order to continue with the allotment of seats otherwise you will not be considered for further rounds of counselling. After freezing a seat, you will be required to pay INR 1,45,000. This sum total will count as your fee for the 1st year of college(which comprises of 2 semesters).For the subsequent 2nd, 3rd and 4rth years, the fee is INR 2,50,000 , INR 2,70,000 and INR 2,90,000. Compared to past years(pre 2024), the fee has indeed increased. Despite this, it is easy to avail student loan as there is a branch of SBI in the college campus and they help you with all steps of student loan.

There are a PLETHORA of societies in NSUT. Ranging from cultural to technical, you can find all sorts of people with different background and different mindsents. You can enter any number of socities provided you clear their recruitment process. Overall, the socialization aspect is incredible. Cultural fests such has MOKSHA are held annually and are a must to attend as they feature popular artists. If some society wants to conduct some event, they can get permssion from the administration for a room and hold their event.

I chose NSUT because it is a reputed college and is considered tier-1. compared to other delhi engineering colleges of the same level such has DTU, it has its pros and cons and for me the pros outweighed the cons. I also applied for JOSAA colleges but was only alloted NIT silchar CSE till round 4 so i opted out. If not for NSUT CSAI, i would have chosen DTU CSE as both colleges and courses are good for placements.

The faculty of the college is good. All seem to be experienced in their fields and teach well. All of them are very approchable and you can ask them your doubts through whatsapp messages also. There are scheduled tutorial classes for some subjects where you can ask doubts and the teachers take problem solving classes. In the first year, subjects like mathematics, computer programming, quantum physics, electrical engineering and electronic communication engineering are alloted. From 2nd years onwards, the curriculum dives more towards the core subjects like web development and OOPS. As for the tests, there are 2 Class tests , 1 Mid-semester exam and 1 End-semester exam. Their difficulty is average and it is not that difficult to score in. The Midsems are of 20 marks and the endsems are of 50 marks.

Being a day scholar, you won't get to see much college nightlife. However, if you consider renting a PG or get hostel allotment, it is very enjoyable as their are many food stalls around campus and even a mall not far from the campus. College life is really important for developing your personality and creating memories with your friends and this is an aspect that should not be overlooked.
