Course Curriculum Overview

3

Basically when it comes to curriculum college has to focus a lot on industrial based or oriented programmes as they are still following age old methods of teaching and syllabus so as far as my knowledge is concerned the college management has to think

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities are pretty less compared to placement offers, however there were decent internship opportunities. I personally didn't go for any internship opportunities as I had different plans back then

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities were so good. As per my knowledge is concerned every year more than 300 companies visit campus and most of the students get their jobs in the campus itself which is a great thing about the college

Fees and Financial Aid

I joined the college through Kcet, Karnataka common entrance test based on merit since I had good rank I did not have to pay any fee for KEA board, however there was a college fee of 26000 per year which includes all the fee. I used to get scholarship every year and it was around 24000. Few of my friends from management quota used to pay 5 lakh per year.

Campus Life

3

Over all experience with the college was not good as I didn't like the competition and competitive nature of the students and teachers. There was always a discrimination with the low scoring guys which I did not like

Admission

The reason why I chose this college over the other was because of the placements and also name it had in the state as an established college since 1947 where it has produced many great people who had great success in their career

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is pretty good through out all the branches and the faculty were also friendly in nature when it comes to other than academics. The name of the faculty I liked was LN and Meena because of their compassion towards the students. I didn't like champa and Nethra. Exams were difficult

Night Life

4

Late night activities I liked the college hostel atmosphere and also the mess. Lot positive energy in the campus during the night time as it used to peaceful and relaxing through out the night which is stress buster

The placements are amazing, many seniors have talked well about their experience and such. The college does have campus placements. Training for campus placements is also given from first semester itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is outdated to be very honest. It needs to be changed as soon as possible. Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi need to change their curriculum as soon as possible because in the era of Artificial intelligence we are lagging behind and this traditional syllabus need to be scraped out and make from scratch from industry experts. Curriculum should industry relevant, that what is the current demand in the industry.

From the 3rd year, students start preparing for internships. Companies like Accenture,Wipro, etc. visits the campus (through senior info). For amazon, we are told that they don't visit the campus for internship and placement, so we have to do it off-campus. The highest package offered is 53.5LPA. and the average package is 6.5LPA. My plans after getting the degree is to get a job first and after gaining experience, further achieve higher studies.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for CSE at Vivekananda Institute of Technology is prescribed by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Therefore, the relevance, comprehensiveness, and exam structure are largely governed by VTU's guidelines (likely the latest 2022 scheme). The curriculum is comprehensive in covering the foundational pillars of Computer Science but is often considered moderately relevant to the rapidly evolving industry landscape. CSE is universally recognized as the top branch with the highest placement opportunities and salary potential. This is often the primary driver.
