Likes
- I like the environment and surrounding of the college . The area wherein it is located. Students will have easy access to all kind of amenities.
- The faculties were really good and supportive
- The overall campus infrastructure was good even though there were flaws
Dislikes
- There wasn't any common area for students to sit or like an auditorium to conduct events the events were either done outdoor or happened in the seminar complex of the university
- There were seperate building for each departments so interdepartmental connections were less and they were far also
- Some of the classrooms didn't make up to mark
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum covered all the basics that one need to know being a computer science and engineering student. There were many languages basics given all we have to do is practice and study more on the topic. The improvement that can be made is to provide more hands on sections rather than theory because it will further help students
Placement Experience
The placements happen at the start of seventh semester and continues till the end of 8 th semester. The major companies that visited were Cisco, IBM, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, EY , UST global. Highest package was 26 lpa and average was around 6.5 lpa. About 75% Students got placement through campus placements
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fee for my course was around 400000 in total I was opted in All india quota that is the reason for this much fee so per semester it was around 48000 and in odd semesters it will be less than this. The other was state merit werein the fee was around 28000 per semester.
Campus Life
There were various events happening throughout the year the art fest is Sargam happening every year during the month of March it is inter- departmental arts fest including various departments of the university. Also a sports tournament called kurukshetra happens and the engineering college with is SOE has a tech fest called Dhishna
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are less for ladies and it is allotted based on the distance from where u are if the home to college distance is huge u will get the hostel in 1st or 2nd year otherwise it is difficult and I got the hostel in 4th year that even as a guest. The room has bed ,cupboards ,1 desk and chair each for the students . There is a website wherein u can apply for hostel. And also there are lot of private pg in and around the college
Admission
I chose this college as it gives a lot of exposure compared to other college and there is no spoon feeding happening here and no one puts pressure on anybody here and students have total control on many things. I didn't get any rejection from other colleges I kept only 2 option of colleges and among the two I chose this
Faculty
The faculty in total was around 25 in total, there is an hod then 7-8 professors and associate professors then 12 assistant professors and rest of the lab staff and office staffs. The faculty i liked the most was minu paulose ma'am she was very friendly and always addressed students problems. There were in total 8 semesters so 8 semester exams and each semester had 2 internal exams for continuous evaluation.
Night Life
The night life is amazing as the college lies in the center of big city kochi the metro is near and almost all shops are open at night too. Mens hostel doesn't have any curfew women's hostel the curfew time is 11 pm at night. There is easy access to shopping malls like lulu mall. The locality is safe to move around at night
