Dislikes
- The cultural shock and the experience of a major transition .
- The overly exploited freedom and the carefree attitude of students towards concerning things.
- The distance of the college from major entertaining spots in the city such as malls, theatres and restaurants.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum seemed interesting, as it had lots of practical exposures rather than just theoretical conceptualizing. I believe the assessment structure can be improved a tiny bit way because most of the time malpractices do happen because of the modernised technique of examinations.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are usually offered by companies like TH, Bajaj and HCL. The students work for 6 to 8 weeks for 40 hours a week. The stipend is usually decided according to the tasks assigned but it can be confirmed that a decent stipend is always availed.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. The students are usually procuring placements from large companies like Bajaj, HCL and Tommy Hilfiger. My plans after getting the Under graduate degree is to focus on getting into a good college abroad for further studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 425000 for the first sem I was entering. The most important aspect of SNU is the fact that you can avail of scholarships and other financial aid based on merit . Since I am a BA English student, I didn't have to pay lab fees but for Science and Math majors they had to submit a payment for this.
Campus Life
The social life inside the campus is electrifying. At times,to be completely honest it does get really hectic to catch up with everything happening on campus but at the same time the events and fest organised are top-notch and extremely fun.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are usually non-ac, but students are selected on a lot basis for AC rooms. The rooms can be quad-sharing, double-sharing and single sharing. The meals are most of the time nutritious and tasty .There is a provision fo procuring 5 meals a day to ensure that students are never on a hungry stomach.
Admission
I chose this college over other colleges I applied to because of the very centralised structuring of the course. I applied to Ashoka University and Krea University, I decided to make my UG education at SNU because I felt the positivity and insights it provided to me as a newcomer student felt genuine and ideal.
Faculty
The faculty members of my college are extremely sweet and approachable. They are all highly qualified and their insights are deemed extremely useful in our academic journey. The exams aren't easy but they are fair with very less discrepancies in the marking system.
Night Life
The nightlife here on campus is highly safe. The watchmen keep an eye on the students. The mess is operational until 2 am. The library stays open until midnight while during exams the curfew is extended to 2 am. The gym, cafeterias and small shops work till late at night. The relaxation spots are safe to hang out in groups.
Other Applied Colleges
Krea University | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Literature)
The course structure didn't match my interest.
Ashoka University | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)
The college atmosphere and the way of campus life seemed too modern for me.
