Course Curriculum Overview
As a cse major, i always liked coding and was very interested in technical field. And in snu noida, they actually cares how systematic and good a curriculum should be. I agree its very hectic and hard, but thats how one can stand out in millions. Some improvements i'd say that they can make the schedule bit less hectic so that students can manage college life with the studies. Vivas will be weekly, graded labs and quizzes will be every 15 days i'd say, and midsems and endsems was 1 months apart for first sem.
Placement Experience
Usually after 3rd sem, students star getting internships. And for compaines visiting our college, except amazon (they blacklisted us). Almost every top companies do visit the college. Highest package was 59LPA, and the average for cse is 12-13Lpa. 99% students get placements. Many students goes abroad for mtech after graduating from snu, i'd like to do the same but after getting a year or two job experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
SNU NOIDA BTECH CSE FEES Tution - 5.5L/year Living - 2.15L/year One time - 60k + 30k (refundable) All upto 8% hike yearly. Merit(98% in boards or 95ile in JEE)/need/sports fee waiver available. Fees structure is same for every category.
Campus Life
THERE ARE HELL LOT OF FUNCTIONS GOING ON. Almost every month. Freshers, jalsa, and many club functions There are many many many clubs, you can find every club you could ever think of. For sports, there are everything available, football, basketball, tennis, cricket, squash, badminton, rock climbing, chess, pool table, athletics, weightlifting, martial arts, and many more. You could get every equipment for free to use. And there's separate place for every sport. Theres separate gym and cardio room too. And the best thing for freshers, on their first day. They can choose there family heads (2nd year students), who will make their first month so fun and will make one familiar and comfortable with college.
Hostel Facilities
Room types (duo/quad sharing) and (ac/non-ac) is selected randomly. I got duo ac room, it got 2 beds, 2 study tables, 2 wall racks, 4 wall slabs, 2 almirah and an ac ofcourse. Food. Food is the best thing in snu, quality, variety and taste is absolutely good. For pg, you can pay more to get room in towers (usually after first year)
Admission
I applied to many other private colleges including mit, vit, srm and all. But i found snu better than those cause of many reasons: 1) student intake : while other pvt colleges takes thousands of students per course, snu only takes around 150. 2) facilities : snu really cares about facilities and hygiene. Living of life in snu campus feels very systematic. 3) location : in north, idts theres any other college with good packages as well as facilities. For cse avg package, its 12Lpa. Which is very good compared to other colleges. Admission process : for soe (school of engineering), there are ofcourse two ways 1) jee main (generally 92ile above for cse) and 2) snusat (cutoff isnt disclosed).
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is like 1:50. Faculties are very good, they always help out students and very positive in order to solve doubts. For btech, I remember Archit somani sir as my cs professor. Hes very good teacher as well as a very polite person And My maths professor, Arjit kumar sir. Hes the best teacher ive ever seen. Every thing is crystal clear, when he explains. For dislikes, Theres a professor named, Sucheta mondal as physics teacher, but her teaching style and explaining skills are very poor. Most of students skips her class. For exams, there are many, ill rate them out of 10 in difficulty 1) quizes (6/10) 2) graded labs (8/10) 3) vivas (8/10) 4) midsems/endsems (9/10) Btech course exams is actually hard, i remember the average marks of ece midsem was 2/40
Night Life
As i said earlier, theres gym and cardio room. A hell of big library with alot of study areas. For first years, 12am is hostel in timings but theres no curfew on Saturday nights and university holidays. There are many hangouts and cafe places like sarc, c and d, and canopies. It is usually locally safe to roam around campus, but sometimes you can encounter a neelgai
