Dislikes
- Mentioning some drawback of our college, We have very small Campus. You can stand in any corner of college and will be able to see complete college by just rolling your eyes!! In FY we felt sad for same but after spending 3yrs we love it as it is!
- As I mentioned about small campus we lack space for parking. Many times we have to park on ground. So Ground does not exist any more. Many people avoid to bring there bikes.
Course Curriculum Overview
Choosing to be a Mechanical Engineer now a days maybe a hard decision for students as mostly after 12th students are attracted towards CS branch. But curriculum of VIT has made me believe that Mechanical Branch is much more deeper and amazing to explore. As mentioned earlier our professors always try to make us industry ready by trying to teach us in more practical way. It was so interesting to learn about parts and draw them in Machine Drawing subject. And talking about Machine design subject it was always fun to learn how to calculate and design our own parts like gears. Fluid Engineering subject opened a very different world for me learning about Turbines and different kinds of fluid, and as a matter of fact made me realize buliding a best turbine is not a joke!! Mechatronics was also amazing subject because we were able to connect Mechanical knowledge with Electronics branch. There are many more subjects I would like to mention but the reason I mentioned them is to make you freshers realize that we have a fun learning curriculum. Our Exams are held on time and talking about difficulty level it varies wrt every student. For me it was Moderate. We also have Industrial Visits which gives us chance to see real life applications and step up into Industry.

Admission
To get admission into VIT Pune you have to give MHT CET or JEE mains exam. I got in through MHT CET score. I also applied for COEP but they were having high cutoff for Mechanical branch. I also applied for Amrutvahini College Ahemadnagar, where I was getting CS branch but I never liked that collge as it was having very poor placement and I was not looking forward to CS branch. Finally I got into VIT Pune for Mechanical branch and never regreted it till the date. VIT Pune is one of the best college for Mechanical Engineers. For admission you have to go through CAP rounds. If you miss CAP rounds you can try for SPOT rounds which takes place after CAP rounds, if you get admission through SPOT round you will not be able to get concession benefits on your fees even if you are from OBC,SC,ST you have to pay full fees. Our college also have admission for SEDA students. Diploma students can apply for it.
Faculty
I won't lie but we have great Faculty none of them deserve any kind of dislike. Some of them might feel Strict at the begining but its on us how we react, They only want the best in us if we as Students are able to show our efforts to them, no student willl find them strict anymore. Our Professors are always open to solve our doubts without even caring about their lunch breaks. They help us with our projects and also to publish our papers. Our HODs for every branch are so talented, humble and cooperative. Talking about Exams, We have Midsem Exam where we dont have any written exams, we only have to show our progress of projects for each Subject which should be almost 50% complete and ppt presentations for our Home Assignments. Then we End Sem Exam, where we have only two written papers of 60 marks each which are been converted to 30 marks, Then we have VIVA, Course project and EDI which is our main project for whole semester. Marks are distributed as following: Written paper 30% Course project 20% Viva 20% PPT and HA 20% Assigments 10% We mostly focus on Practical knowledge then Thereotical Knowlwdge So we have Theroy, Tutorial and Lab session for each subject.
