Course Curriculum Overview

4

Overall course curriculum is satisfactory but with a lot of scope for improvement. As mentioned before, if they adopted a system similar to IITs where project is not mandatory but you could take 2 courses instead. Curriculum provides the necessary foundational knowledge for real world applications

Internships Opportunities

4

Most companies that come for placements also stay for internships. Most of them also offer pre placement offer. Stipend for internship range for 25000 a month to 1,50,000 a month. Junior developer intern is the most requested role.

Placement Experience

4

A moderate amount of companies come for placements. You are almost guaranteed placements if you put in some amount of work. Highest is around 47lpa. Average around 15lpa. Oracle, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, wellsfargo, sprinkler, etc are some of the top companies that will visit

Fees and Financial Aid

60000 per semester for annual income of 15 lakhs and above.25000 per semester for annual income 12 to 15 lakhs. No fees for annual income below 12 lakhs or if you belong to SC / ST. 1.5 lakhs for DASA(NRI) students. Very affordable even if you have a below average income.Caution deposit of 10000 is deposited. Mess bills come at around 4000 per month.Hostel fees of 2000 per month.Scholarships are available.SBI student loans are available.

Campus Life

4

Very vibrant college life with events every 1 or 2 weeks. Most clubs put forth events actively including musical nights, art competitions, etc. However getting into these clubs is mostly nepo, so get to know your seniors more. Standard classrooms with projectors are there. Sports is a big thing here with football being the most active. There is a mini league that goes on all semester long with clubs battling against each other in 4v4s or 5v5s to secure the first place. Auctions are held every semester to procure promising players to their clubs. NSS and NCC clubs are equally active too.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities vary according to hostel allocated. E being the oldest and MBH being the latest. Well maintained mostly. D and F hostels are favored because eof their proximity to the main building and facilities. MBH has the best facilities but it takes around 20 mins walk to reach main building from there. Bus services are available. All hostels have 2000 per month rent which will be added to mess dues Kozhikoden food is the absolute best, no complaints at all if you are choosing the right mess. Both north and south indian food available. Exclusive Veg mess is also there.

Admission

Best college and course according to my percentile. In my home district. Admission was done via JOSAA after clearing jee mains. Also got admission to TKM, Kollam but ended up choosing NITC because of higher packages and college life

Faculty

3

Most faculties have a laid back attitude and will pass you even if ur attendance might be a bit low. But there are others who take tht very seriously and award more marks to students who attend the class regularly or to students who actively participate in class. There are experienced faculties but the way of teaching is still primitive and not very fun. Exams can be said to be of medium to high difficulty, you can pass easily but getting an S grade is very hard. Course curriculum is satisfactory but i don't approve of the compulsory final semester project. Most students just does this with external help or just makes some bs project

Night Life

5

College gym is mostly packed but you can get through. There are 3-4 cafeterias inside the college. Very large library for research scholars and students. There is no curfew for 2nd to 4th years. 1st years have 11pm curfew. Campus is open 24x7. Active night life till 2 in the morning. Hangout spots include creative zone, atm circle, amphitheatre, etc. Lots of hills and viewpoints within 20kms. Very safe locality with friendly town nearby.
