Course Curriculum Overview

4

In comparison of other colleges and universities out university provides course oriented subjects, unlike other universities where there are unncessary subjects in the first year, we just have four to five subjects and most of them are directly related to our course. Our university also provides side courses that work on our social and communication skills as well as our technical managerial skills. Although most subjects are already exam oriented yet few subjects feel unnecessary as they dont have a direct relation with out course. The frequency of exams also feels hectic as attempting 3 Seasonal tests and then continous evaluations make it hard for a student to focus on his individual skills.

Internships Opportunities

3

Although the internship opportunities are not as great as they must be yet students are provided baisc internship opportunities in their fifth semester. Most of the students who go for internships do it through their own skills and off campus.

Placement Experience

5

The placament record of my university is excellent as even after having a vast population, it still provides a decent average placement of eight lakhs.YES, campus placement is provided in our university. Many big companies pay visit like that of microsoft, amazon and capgemini. The highest package was offered by amazon that was of 1.12 cr, but it was an off campus placement. Placements starts from the 6th semester that is the last semester of third semester, and the percentage of students getting placed isn't fixed but majority in the year 2021 about 95 percent of students were placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the course I am opting that is Bachelor of Engineering Computer Science, the fees for per semester is one lakh twenty thousand (120000), making it a total of nine lakh sixty thousand (960000). Other than this the hostel fees varies based on different tyes of room, for 4 seater common washroom it is 67000 per semester, for 4 seater attached washroom it is 72000 per semester, for 3 seater attached washroom its 90000 and for single room its 126000 per semester. The tuition fees increases by 10 percent every year and so does the hostel fees. Fees for MBA in Chitkara varies from 2.25 lakhs to 15 lakh and the tuition fee for B.A.LLB is 10 lakh.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience is great as the campus is beautiful, therr are a lot of facilities inside the university itself, there are a lot of food outlets and certain evets are also organised on weekly basis to keep the students engaged. Rnagrezz is one of the best event that is held in our university and it is also one of the most waited by students. The range and accessibility of the books and journals in the library is also vast and it is easy to issue any book from the library. The technological provisions in the classrooms are also decent as most of the teaching is done on projector making it easy for students to visualize things better and strudents also get access to free wifi. Almost everything is provided for sports as it has 2 big basketball courts, a volleyball court, couple of tennis courts, 2 football grounds, one big cricket ground, 3 inside badminton courts, some indoor games and a big and spacious gym with all the possible equipments. Certain clubs are also provided to keep students engaged in extacurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

The overall hostel facility is great as well with all the wardens being retired army soldiers. In the hostel rooms we are provided with beds, study table and chairs, almirahs and a cloth stand. On every floor common facilities like iron, fridge, oven and inductions are also provided. The overall mess quality and menu is just decent as it is not nutritious enough. Hostel affordability is also decent and if we go for a PG then the cost might be same but the locality might not be as safe as it should be.

Admission

The reason for choosing this university over other colleges and universities is that it has a really impressive placement records in comparison to all other universities and colleges. I attemted JEE but I wasnt getting enough percentile for any of the NITs or any big government colleges thats why I chose chitkara over any other private colleges and universities as it is way better in comparison to others. The admission process is very simple, an individual just have to fill a registration form and if he/she is eligible for the course, then they can sit in the counselling. The eligiblity criteria is 60 percent and above in 12th standard and the student must have appeared in JEE.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is also decent, there are different teachers of different subjects and most of our faculties are PHD holders. Some of them are approachable while some might not be. For every semester there are 3 seasonal tests and one end semester exam in which the internals hold 40 marks (seasonal tests) and the external holds 60 marks (end semester). Although a lot of students dont fail the exam, yet those who fail get back in that respective subjects and they have to clear it in the next to next semester.

Interview Experience

3

As I am in my first year of education, right now I haven't faced any groud discussions, interviews or any other written tests for the admission as the admission is done on the basis of the academic performance of class 12th and JEE.

Night Life

3

The nighlife here just feels like heaven on earth, it looks beautiful with all the lighting and greenery. The opening timing for gym is from 6 AM in the morning to 11 AM in the morning and then from 5 PM in the evening to 9 PM in the night. The library opens at 9 AM and all the way to 11 PM in the night and the secondary library opens at 9 AM na dcloses at 4 PM in the evening. The hostel timings are from 6 AM in the morning till midnight. The famous hangout places inside the university are square one that majorly has al the food outlets like dominos, keventers and many more. Alpha zone, Beta zone and Omega zone are some big grounds to play sports and hang around. The locality outside of the university might to be as safe as it should be as it is a quite area and there is nothing hardly anything in a one kilometer radius.

Students are eligible for campus placement in their final year (7th semester). only a few companies made no offers. I can recall only 1 name Nation with NAMO. highest package in Civil branch was 14LPA. Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in Robotics and my parents wanted me to take a core branch. The curriculum is not very relevant but some topics are good and related like modern welding technologies and manufacturing techniques. I think our college curriculum needs to be updated where more new world technologies like AR and VRs should be taught with advance robotics. Teaching methods used are classical I think professors should try to use smart classrooms to visualise the concept to make it better understandable. Exams are moderate level but I think our college needs to reduce exam frequency although we have time but due to exams nearly every month it doesn't feel good.
