my review on nit Calicut

the course curriculum focus on fundamental aspects but lacks strong emphasis on practical aspects. the course does not prepare us real world applications. we have two exams in one sem that is mid sem and end sem exams the examination system is good. but the papers they put on the exam are hard.

they offer intership through the placement cell . its good . but placement are very strict about the rules and not meeting their need will make them debar you. i didn't do any intership so don't know much.

placement are good for cse but for core branches the placement are not that good but the Student is electrical and mechanical branches good not get much job in their core branches. there is an average lpa 9 lakhs

the fee for b tech is 125000 but it vary for students according to their income catagory students below 1 lakh income have no tution fee for income between one lakh and 5 lakh the fee is 41000 .SC and Students have full fee wavier. student can apply for other scholarship also kerla government also provides e grazd scholarship for malayale students

campus life is good . we have two technical fests ragam and thathva. they are really great fests may be the best in kerala. we have really good library. but its on the other side of the campus. classrooms are okayish. sports and extracurricular are not that good but fine. there are lots clubs in nit Calicut

hostel fee is around 2000 per month and mess fee is around 45000 + additional acording to consumption . food is good in hostel. its really affordable. the hotel doesn't provide high-end facilities but we do have common room with tv and gamming and other games like table tennis ,carrom ect

i could have gotten into other nits but this was the best nit according to my rank so .. admission are done according to jee rank other nit which offer btech are also similar not much different . the overall admission experience was good

some of the faculties are good but most of them do not care about the students. faculties to students ratio is good. one of the faculty shija made controversial facebook post by expressing her support for nathuram Godse actions against Mahatma Gandhi. even after that she was resently promoted as the Dean. here faculty dicides everything

night life in campus is not that good. no cafeteria after 10 inside the campus. you can go out but you have to record it in hostel register. amphitheatre is good hangout spot 97th avenue is also a good spot. the rest is secret you find it out for yourself.
