What Students Say

Likes

My hall room which is very aesthetic and lavish wrt to other halls
Our socities culture where people engage very much make new bondings
Our fests and celebrations which occur very frequently and will be lot of fun

Dislikes

All the lizards because these halls are established before years
The curriculum is very pale like it is not engagable to what we do during job time
No interaction between students and professors its like some robots scheduled to teach and left

Course Curriculum Overview

There are none to inspire me i just came like this is the highest priority of all the IIT aspirants There is no real world application problems connected to the curriculum I guess they should keep something that we use in job into curriculum

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee is 300000 Tution fee is 100000 Remaining all fee comes under hall mess and everything For oc full fees for sc st no tution fee for obc and ews 1/3 of fee applicable Many scholarships are there but mostly for people with reservation

Campus Life

Spring fest, kshitij, shaurya, all these occur in January of every year We have one of the largest libraries where we have all the books There are labs and tech facilities There are lot of sports and many people are largely engaged

Admission

I applied all the top iits branchwise and this came into my confirmation in all rounds Yes for all the above colleges than iit kgp i was rejected due to my air rank First josa councelling then confirmation then campus registration and then you are in

Faculty

Faculty student ratio is good but the relationship is not that good no interaction properly unless we thrive for it so hard Many are okish some are bad too There are no particular reasons but they don't know the way of teaching

Night Life

Kgp is all about night lyf all people roam in campus in nights many societies run meetings in night amd there are night canteen till 4 am and many more The students Gymkhana where people celebrate birthdays and nightouts and many

For placement and internship we have CCD ( Career development center ) and it ensure that students are getting all the opportunities for interview with top companies like Microsoft, google, Goldman Sache amazon and so on. students can apply for internship in 5th semester and can sit for placement in their 8th semester, other than campus placement students can apply anywhere for off campus placement if they are meeting thier crieteria.

I choose my course that chemistry because of the fact that I had got the rank that came under it and another reason is chemistry department is quite old here even if kanpur chemistry department is better for core, you will get chance for non core too here. Life at IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course for the first year is easy overall , maybe challenging for biology students because involvement of Maths in the curriculum but they can decrease their load by practicing Maths problems, asking doubts, approaching the instructors or their personal mentors. Otherwise the course is mixed in a good way with theoretical and practical part. Labs are conducted of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and CS in first year. You can choose CS as an minor in higher classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was preparing for the medical exam in 2014-2016, i appeared in 2016 AIPMT exam 2016, but did not get better college and so i heard about IISER exam that we can we go for higher study from here. i was interested that i can go to the medical research after completing my degree from IISER. yes we can go to ICMR and research field in any department if you have qualified from IISER with your dedication. you can go foreign for higher study like Phd. There shoud be more laboratry so that it easy for individual practices. The exam taken in IISER is semester wise with fraction like mid sem and end sem. with the perfect schedule. The exam of IISER is good level in each deparments.

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi.
