An honest review of my college - The Heritage Academy

I love my college and l don't have anything to say against the college management.

The course curriculum is industry-relevant. The syllabus includes topics like programming in the languages - C, C++, Java, Python, Data Structures and Digital Marketing. Exams involve not only the theory and practicals but also VIVA and Continuous Evaluation Tests. VIVA sharpens communication skills.

I am just a first-year student, so l have not got any internships. l have heard that students get internship opportunities from the 2nd year. Placements in The Heritage Academy are very good for BCA.

Apart from the Fresher's Welcome, Farewell and Teacher's Day, a tech(short for technical) fest, cultural fest and Agomoni(a programme held just before the college's Puja Vacation) are celebrated. Apart from these, seminars and panel discussions are also conducted.

Fees for the 3-year BCA Course is around 3.5 lakhs. Fees for the first year is around 90,000. Apart from these, if you want to do additional courses as stipulated by MAKAUT (the university to which my college is affiliated), you need to pay additional fees.

No, our college does not have any scholarship facility so l didn't get any scholarship. I have not taken any education loan.

Male-to-female gender ratio of students in our college is around 2:1, which is very healthy and balanced. We have to score at least 75 points in MAR (Mandatory Additional Requirement) majorly through extra-curricular for graduating our degree course, so considerable emphasis is placed in our college on extra-curricular. The labs of my department(BCA) are clean, spacious and air-conditioned.

Admission to The Heritage Academy is purely based on the Class-12 board marks. For taking admission to the BCA course, you need to have either Maths or Computer Science in Class-11 and 12. Besides this, we all had to appear in an entrance exam named CET conducted by MAKAUT(university) as The Heritage Academy is under MAKAUT. This exam is the first step for registering yourself as a student of MAKAUT.

The faculty of our college are all approachable, quite friendly and knowledgeable. We can go up to them for clarification of doubts without hesitation, even outside the class hours. The faculty encourages us to participate in classroom discussions. I would give them 4 stars.
