Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is pretty balanced. They also teach us core electives and also general electives like Business research methodology, social movement in india, economics etc. They also teach us subjects that are not related to our department but which are helpful for placements. The labs are of 3 hour duration each which I feel is a bit tiring and we had to stand the whole time. The timings of classes and labs are mostly 8 - 5 in which we have a 1 hour gap for lunch and a one hour gap in between for 5 days a week. The attendance criterion is >85% which is way too high. The mid exams are of 2 hours duration and end semester exams are 3 hours long.

Internships Opportunities

3

Many companies visited for internships like Texas, Qualcomm, VISA, Barclays and many more with a very high stipend of around 60k per month. we also get 6 month internships now with a following FTE or PPO offers. Mostly the companies are here for SDE, core and Data analyst/Scientist roles.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for internships from their pre-final year. The placement scenario here is good, around 900 among 1100 students are already placed which is around 80% till now and many will get placed in due time. From what I have seen the average package is around 10 LPA which is considered decent. we get companies seeking job roles of core, SDE, Data analyst and data scientist more. My plans after getting the degree is to get into a good company.

They also get scholarships like NSP of around 20k to 40k varying some times.

Campus Life

5

We have 4 fest per year- 1.Cosmo-the ethnic fest of NITR held in october 2.Innovision-the technical fest held in january 3.vriddhi- the sports fest held in january 4.NITRutsav- the cultutral fest held in Febraury The library has a vast range of books and journals regarding subjects and also general knowledge. The campus encourages all kinds of sports including cricket, Volleyball, Football, table tennis, lawn tennis, kho kho and many more games. we have institute teams for all these sports. they also teake institute teams to participate in atleast 2 fests of other colleges and Inter NIT competitions. There are a lot of clubs which ar estudent-lead, the club culture here is amazing. we have so many meetings and events planned to do in the fests and take part in fests of other colleges too representing our college.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility is also good here, the rooms are spacious, hostels are huge. every hostel has a canteen and a gym. tehy also have common rooms for studying and general activities. we get hot water 24/7 but in some hostels there is water and electricity problem. there is afrequent power cut during examniation time. The mess food is too bad. The menu is good but the taste is worst except for the breakfast and the mess fee is also high.

Admission

I also applied for NIT warangal, Surathkal, Trichy and BITS Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. But I couldn't get into a circuital branch in any of them so I decided to join NIT Rourkela since it's the top 3 among NIT's. The placement scenario is also good with an average package above 10 LPA. The admission process is smooth, i counselled through Josaa after completing JEE Mains. There are also many foreign students, the most preferred exam bu students to get into it is JEE Mains.

Faculty

4

The faculty here is very good. they have a good knowledge in their respective fields and they are also very approachable, we also get their mail ids and mobile numbers for contacting. But the faculty here is too strict and the courses are very tough, We have mid semester exams and end semester exams in a semester with around 4 subjects in a semester along with 3-4 labs. The difficulty of the exams is based on the professor, many students fail the exam which i clearly saw but I feel that is due to their negligence not the subject difficulty. The course curriculum is very relevant. I dont like to reveal the names of the faculty that I like or dislike but I can tell you about them. One professor always helps us with any difficulties we have and guides us well.

Night Life

5

The nightlife here is amazing, we have many cafes and restaurants like Domino's, Keventers, calorie, Hexagin and many more hangout spots for students. There is campus timings we can come and go out anytime we want, but biometric is there and the timings are recorded and sent our parents through sms . for hostel timings, girls have 12 am and later late entry will be wirtten.

The placement is good with highest package being 19 lpa from JP Morgan to lowest is 3 lpa the average package is around 5 lpa . Students are eligible for placement tests from 6 sem as pwc comes for their launchpad program in 6th sem only. Companies like accenture, tcs, Infosys, cognizant, PWC, JP Morgan visit our college. Majority students around 82 percent gets placed in these companies. My plan after college is to work for any of these companies.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
