St. Thomas college, Thrissur a review

I want to become a data scientist Statistics is applied on data science and with a good foundation in statistics can help in securing a good career in data science. The curriculum prepares me for real world applications. The frequency and timing of exams is fine.

Tcs, Accenture, etc... Are the main companies who offer placements. They offer in the post of data analyst, etc.. You need to prepare in both in academics and in your skills placement is a set of many tasks first of all the students with all pass in all papers are only allowed to join the placement cell if you have any one supplement exam pending you can't join the placement cell. After joining it the training will start in the third year confidence building training, language, skill training etc... After that when companies come for the placement drive if you are eligible to apply you should apply and write their exams or attend internship after clearing there will be a interview and finally if you clear that interview you will get the placement.

After 4th semester students should be able for placements. There are 100+ companies main companies are tcs,accenture,etc... The highest package in my knowledge is 30 LPA. The students who are getting campus placements is 20%. My first plan is to get campus placement if not i will secure a job with my degree and internship , experience , etc...

For First year my fees was 10100?. The complete fee during the course completion for management quota would be around 60000 to 70000 for Sc/St students it would be around 45000 to 55000. E-grant is a scholarship and there are many other scholarships for all category of students.

There are many programmes in the college. Almost all departments have their own festivals tech festivals and cultural festivals all of them is very super. The range and accessible of books in library is very high.There are student-run social groups, clubs, or student portals, it have big impact on students life.

My college is a great college with a history of more than 130 years in the heart of Thrissur. The admission process to my college is difficult you should have minimum 90% marks in plus two for general seats and Cuet exam marks are also valuated. Only through management and community quota students with below 90% in plus two can apply

The faculty to student ratio is 1:20.The faculty-student relationship is good and the faculties are very approachable for the students. Chacko sir of department of statistics he is a good faculty andgood friendfor students he is very approachable. In every semester there are two exams one internal and external external exam is the main exam. 10% students have failure rate.The course curriculum is very relevant to the job market.

Yes there was a small interview by the principal. And a group discussion by the main faculties of my department. It was a simple procedure no need for worrying you just need to prepare you English and be ready to answer their questions. Not only English malayalam is also applicable.

There are 3 cafeterias in the college all are good and very friendly.The hostels will close at 6:30pm. The main hangout place in the college is Gandhi smriti where Gandhiji itslef come and sit there in 1928 during the freedom fight time.
