I think Nift is a platform where you can express your thoughts and ideas without any fear. It moulds you in such a way that you can face any problems in your life. You are free to express yourself and your interest of area. Faculties encourage you in all the aspects.

My course is accessory design. It's fashion and lifestyle accessories. I feel if you do this course you'll have vast opportunities for job because everyone semester you learn something new like designing furniture, Jewellery, bag, various softwares and lot more.

Our college does offer internship. They themselves suggest places for internship or you yourself can also find your area of interest and find companies accordingly. Interships are good as you get to learn a lot of things and gain know about the industry.

For the last semester that is the 8th semester you have to do a graduation project working under a firm so most likely you might get a pre placement offer in the same company or there are companies that do come for placements. As of my course, accessory design you have a vast job opportunities.

We celebrate all events like onam, pongal or sankranti, dussera, Diwali, fresh face contest, inter department fest, spectrum ( college fest) teachers day, graduation show and lot more. Fresh face contest is conducted in our college every year where our college students can participate and showcase their talents. Spectrum is our college fest where people from other colleges come and participate in number of events like shipwreck, singing, group dance, fashion show and lot more. All festivals are celebrated in Nift with great zeal.

It is very expensive. Every year the overall fees increases by 10%. There is NRI qouta in the college whose fees is lot more expensive than the normal fees. It costed around 2 lakhs for each year including hostel approximately and I joined in the year 2015. So now the fees would have increased by 50%.

There is loan facility available in our college as our college has a tie up with IDBI bank and UNION bank. And scholarship is also available for students based on the parent,s annual income. I availed for a loan in IDBI BANK.

A lot of extra curricular activities happens like inter department fest where you get to compete with other departments of the college and it's a platform to showcase your talents. There is a basketball court and a volleyball court in the girls hostel. Indoor stadium for badminton and table tennis.

Hostel facilities are very good. I'll give a 9/10 for the hostel facilities. You have AC and non AC rooms and room cleaning facility weekly available. Washing clothes facility available. And there is a night canteen inside the hostel which is open till 2 am. There is a beauty saloon available inside the hostel. Food is okay. It is managable.

Senior students are very helpful and friendly. There are faculties who have studied in the same college. Senior students do come for guest lecturing. They let us know how the industry outside works and share their experience with us.

There is very less theory exam for design students as well do a lot of practical stuff. Jury happens in our college, where you get to display all the things that you have done the whole semester for each subject and then explain whatever you have done to the jury panels. This way you get a chance to express yourself.

During the month of November or December you have to register for the entrance exam. During the month of February there will be an exam. First 3 hours of drawing and then 2 hours of McQ test. This is the first round and after qualifying this there is another round of test called situation test. After this the ranks are announced and counseling happens according to the rank. And you get to choose the course you wish during bthe counselling.

The faculties in the college are very friendly and helpful. They help you in all aspects. You can ask their help anytime without hesitating. They are always there to guide you and teach you. They are more of a friend than faculty.
