What Students Say

Likes

I personally liked the diversity that is people from different regions here
I liked the symposiums conducted earlier which took off our stress then and now
The college is somewhat liberal like they dont trouble you that much

Dislikes

Infrastructure during rainy days , especially some department blocks like civil etc...
We dont get signal inside our classrooms and department
Some teachers dont show that much interest towards teaching

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally loved ECE, so far I dont think the curriculum has prepared me for real-world applications, the course curriculum is good , frequency of exams are worse , like we wrote three sems in the same year.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 162401 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are okay but there has been a drop in placements , from 7th sem students are eligible , there are quite a lot of companies like zoho , accenture , etc .My plans after getting the degree is to get a job obviously but Im not sure if it's through campus

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 162401 first year and 15000 for the next three years . All the other fees are included in this fees . For CENTAC students who are given seat through Pondicherry quota , the fees is only 33,000 and 13000 for next three years , for JEE candidates , it's much higher.

Campus Life

Campus life is good , socially most of the day scholars arent that good meanwhile hostellers are good socially , there are a lot of clubs like photography club , design , IEEE, Literary club , fine arts club , etc... . I personally like photography club .Infrastructure isnt that good here

Admission

I just wanted to get into this college just because it was a government college but I didnt get CENTAC seat tho , also , I didnt have any other choices for my affordability of fees, I applied to SMVEC and PKIET , I got seat but I rejected it since I didnt want to go there, the admission process is done through CENTAC.

Faculty

Idk much about the faculty to student ratio , the faculty to student relationship is not bad , some teachers treat students so good meanwhile some dont , they are approachable . There are 8 sems and not many have arrears , so it's good

Night Life

Well, curfew time is there , it's 6 p.m for girls and 8 for boys ig. There are a few gyms , a lot of cafés, like a lot, not much libraries ig , Inside we dont have fun places to hangout, outside we have Lyrical café , backbenchers café, Mc café , etc... . I dont know if the locality is that much safe

Know About Puducherry Technological University

Placement Experience:

By 7th Semester, students are eligible for Campus Placements and there are several companies that have visited our college during a course of 2-3 months and there were many offers made, highest package was of 9.5 LPA and the average is of 5-6LPA Students are getting Placed very well, and i have place already so my plan is to get into the job and excell in the IT Sector

Placement Experience:

Placements of the college are good and in increasing phase. Placements training is also provided in college from 6th semester as per students wish. Combination of core and software companies will hire students in placement

I got into SMVEC First, after a month later, i got into my current college PTU in which everything was better than SMVEC, SMVEC is a lot more like a school, while PTU is more like a college where the staffs dont consider about any rules, but they be on time and perfect when it comes to studies. Life in Pondicherry Technological University

I have applied to various NIT*s but didn't get admission since my jee mains mark is only 84% . I was pretty sad . If you are sc or st you can get into that college with lesser mark but if you come from general it is needed like 90 above and mbc is like 85 above...Read More
