Which is better, ECE in Pondicherry Engineering College or Biotech in Sastra?

It depends on where you want to live and study. If you are comfortable staying in Pondicherry and are interested in ECE, go with PEC, which is one of India's oldest institutes. On the other hand, SASTRA University is a more recent private prestigious university and it has great infrastructure facilities and placement record. BioTech in Sastra has IT placements with a lot of companies whereas ECE in PEC has good placement but is not that great. Life in Pondicherry Technological University

Fees and Financial Aid:

For the students who comes through jee mains or advanced the fees is 1,75,000 for the first year and 1,50,000 for the remaining three years . The amount is same for all the courses. And for the students who comes through centac the fees is less and it is around 35,000 for the first year and 14,000 for the remaining years. The scholarship is available for the state government students . The fees structure is same for all students and for sc and st there is also a lot of scholarship available.

Life around PTU

I paid 162401 first year and 15000 for the next three years . All the other fees are included in this fees . For CENTAC students who are given seat through Pondicherry quota , the fees is only 33,000 and 13000 for next three years , for JEE candidates , it's much higher.

I don't like the time table of my college.

Iam from st category.for me my first year tuition will be 54000 and for registration and admission fee will be 36000.from second year the fee will be 75000.for other category students they are paying tuition fee of of 1,14000 and from second year 150000.Iam getting a scholarship of 30000 it is subramanyam harihara scholarship

The fee structure of Puducherry technological University is divided in to two categories one for local and non local without considering caste the fees for non local students is 150000 general category and 75000 for sc category 13500 for local students

The yearly fee for this college is one lakh fifty thousand. There is a tution fee of six thousand and caution fee deposit of ten thousand rupees. Fee structure vary from caste to caste. Mostly lesser for SC ST

The admission fee for each year in 4 years is 150000 and first year we have to pay 10000 for caution fee and 6000 for tution fee. The above details are for OBC category and other categories vary depending on the caste category

Puducherry technological University review

The major way of admission to the college is through jee mains and centac. Jee mains is a national exam whereas centac is a local counselling. Students joined through various admission method have different fee structure. Students joined through jee mains have to pay 160000 for the first year and 150000 for rest of the course. Students joined through centac has to pay 32000 every year. Hostel fees are same irrespective of admission method and everyone has to pay 75000 for first year and 60000 for rest of the course. Talking about the academics the curriculum is good covering skills learning session for every subject and faculties are good with great experience and its really interstinh to be around here and learn. But it is not much good compared to all other good colleges.

An honest review with pros and cons on PTU, Puducherry

Syllabus is set very nicely, rather to say syllabus is very much updated

Setting of question paper is very ordinary, they won't provide any competitive question.

Puducherry Technological University was formerly known as Pondicherry Engineering College, it started with NIRF ranking 17 once, but now it holds NIRF ranking above 200. Yearly fees for academic is 1.5 lakh for JoSAA admitted candidates, 13000 for CENTAC admitted candidates. Caution fees will be take 10k to 20k. If you want to stay in hostel, it charged 50k per year in my time, although now they are changing 70k as per I heard. For hostel caution deposite is 15k but don't keep hope for getting it returned, they will make excuse like mess amount increased and will cut your caution money. They offer all central govt. scholarships like Pragati Scholarship and even they have many local scholarship schemes from which you can get up to 50k per year. Now let's take about study there. Faculties are too good, some of them may not be good. But administration has fault to make the examination easy. Trust me syllabus is very much updated than other college, but level of question paper is very low. Pressure of study is low to moderate. Everything they try to manage in systematic way. They won't spoon feed you anything, you need to be serious about your job and higher study preparation. The worst part is training and placement center, they will 5k for enrollment and to make you sit in placement but they will literally teach nothing. If I talk about placement, it's not that good. You can expect highest salary 10 to 12 LPA, lowest even 2.5 LPA, average 4 to 5 LPA. Companies like, Microchip technology, MBIT wireless, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, L&T, Tech Mahindra, Avasoft, TVS etc will visit the campus. If I talk about hostel life, it's not less than worst. I will suggest not to take hostel (for ladies), you can take PG outside. The ladies hostel warden literally don't have any other work other than asking money and putting spies on you to see with which boy you are talking. Food is worst, you will lose your weight day by day and you will start prefering Swiggy, Zomato.
