Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose Information Science and Engineering(ISE) at RNSIT because of its well structured curriculum that blends core computer science concepts with practical applications. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in theoretical and practical knowledge, but its effectiveness in real world applications depends on self learning and extra projects beyond the coursework. Some subjects, especially programming languages and cloud computiong should be updated to include modern technologies like Go,Kubernates etc. Exam Frequency: 3 Internal Tests(CIE). 1 End Semester Test(SEE). Lab exams and viva. Exams are usually spread throughout the semester, with internals every 3 weeks and final exams at end.

Placement Experience

5

Students at RNSIT become eligible from the 7th semester. However some companies also conduct internships for the 6th semsters students also. The companies that visit RNSIT are: 1.Infosys. 2.TCS. 3.Wipro. 4.Tech Mahindra. 5.Mindtree 6.Bosch 7.Amazon. 8.Oracle. 9.Accenture and many more. The highest package of the college is 56LPA and the average package is around 5.5-6 LPA The placement percentage at RNSIT is around 85-90% depending upon the branch. I am considering to get placed at a good company with good package, so that i can be financially stable.

Fees and Financial Aid

RNS Institute of Technology is one of the top engineering colleges in Karnataka, renowned for its academic excellence, modern infrastructure and drynamic campus. The fee structure at RNSIT varies based on the admission category. For students like me the total fee is Rs.2,63,561,which includes severl components. The tution fee is Rs.36,000 and while the college and other fee is Rs.34,350.The largest Portion is the VTU fee of Rs.1,93,211 making up the significant part of the overall cost. To support Students from economically weaker background there's a SNQ Quota where eliglible students pay a much reduced fees of Rs.35,000 only

Campus Life

5

RNSIT hosts Multiple cultural and sports fests throughout the year providing students with a platform to showcase their talents and skills. 1.Pantheon , Hackathons, Step-Up etc RNSIT has a well stocked library with diverse range of books, journals and resear papers, The classrooms are well euipped with projectors and smart boards and each classroom has a wifi connectivity . RNSIT has several student led clubs which play a big role in enhancing skills, networking and leaderships skills.

Admission

Before Joining RNSIT, I considered and applied to several engineering colleges in Karnataka. Some of them are, 1.BMS College of Engineering. 2. RV College of Enginerring. 3.PES University. I recevied confirmed admission offers from RNSIT,but couldn't make it to above colleges as their cutoff rank was more in comedk. I Choose RNSIT because: 1. It has a good reputation for Information Science and Engineering. 2.The Placement record is strong, especially for software Jobs. 3. The fees are reasonable compared to PES and RVCE. I couldn't secure admission to RVCE and BMSCE because of their high cutoff and my comedk rank was not suffcient for the first round. To get admission into RNSIT's B.Tech programs students must have passed 12th Grade with atleast 45% in PCM and appeared in a recongnized entrance exam. RNSIT accepts admission through : 1.Karnataka CET(KCET). 2.COMEDK UGET. 3.Management Quota. The most preferred exam is KCET as it has less fees to join.

Faculty

5

At RNS Institute of Technology the Faculty to student ratio is of 1:30 while it varies by department. The faculty student relationship at RNSIT is really good Many professors are approachable and willing to help students with doubts, projects, and carrer advice. All the faculty members i like there is no particuarly one faculty and all of them are freindly. Now coming to Exams, At RNSIT there are Two Type of exam CIE(continous internal evaluation) and SEE(semester end examination) and lab exams. The internal exams are moderately difficult and scoring well in them can boost your GPA in sem end examination. Most students clear there exam with good scores, but 5-10% of students struggle and may reattempts, espercially in difficult subjects. The curriculum is moderately relevant. While it covers fundamental concepts and some are outdated.

Night Life

5

College life at RNSIT is a mix of academics, fun and relaxation. After long hours of classes students have several place to unwind and hang out both inside and outside the campus. On Campus Hangout Spots are: 1.Canteen - The food here is goooood. 2.Amphitheatre - Nicely we can relax here . 3. Library Off Campus spots are: 1.Some of the best student budget friendly cafes are there beside the college . 2. Good restraunents are there for lunch and dinner. The area around RNSIT is generally safe with a strong Police presence.

The students from the last year that is seventh semester are allowed to attend the placement given on campus. There are not so many campus placement available. Many companies such as tcs, wipro and other companies basically giving less salary compared to other colleges. There are many few students who got placed in the companies through campus placement hence it cannot be trusted completely. My plans after getting a degree is to get a job or even higher studies of possible. The average students getting placed are very low.
