Dislikes
- Even though environment for living is good but very rural and college is too far
- There's is no playground so if you love sports there is not much
- No girls hostel and the fact that college is literally in the top of a mountain it's really tough to reach 9:00 am class
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose civil engineering because my family background is in civil and I really get fascinated by the making of houses roads etc JNGEC is considered to be one of the best government college for civil engineering in Himachal and in civil you can experience and see things you don't have to imagine you can see them in real life and it is really helping like you can see the highways the houses all the things the area that should get improved is that there should be more faculty the faculty available is enough but still and here we have 2 preoricals and internal and external practicals along with final exams in one semester in periodicals we get the paper of 50 marks with 2.5 hours and in finals we get a paper of 60 marks for 3 hours the periodicals are medium tough but the final are sometime tough and sometime easy depends upon your luck
Fees and Financial Aid
The structure is very simple For under graduate courses for girls it's max 15,000 and for boys 38,000 per semester and there is only boy's hostel till now which is 30,000 per semester and for Master for boys 30,000 and for girls 0 and yeah there's a lot of scholarship mainly Pragati for girls in which you get 50,000 per year and selected on the basis of merit and for boys there is scholarship but i have no Idea about them
Campus Life
There is a lot of clubs not much but we get twask Sangam chakravyu but not that much basically held in the month of June July and sports meet of all the hptu we have a library and you can get all the books that you need for your course almost every book but there is not much variety of other books the classrooms are good big airey with projectors available and lot of lab where you can understand easily and there is a civil engineering society and many more clubs they also organise many events small small events
Admission
I applied to all the Government colleges and all the colleges that come under hptu and choose this college because it is considered to be best for government civil engineering course and I had the option to choose any college but I choose this because it is a good college for the admission we have to give entrance test or on the basis of JEE mains so after the admission test there is merit list and the counselling and you get the admission letter that's all it's it's a very easy process you just have to score there is a lot of competition but yeah you can get admission not easily but not that tough
Faculty
There is a very good and hard work in faculty members I like everyone but I like most Surabhi mam but she so wouldn't teaching it is really the lord and the way she make everything so easy is really dresses and there is total 82 students in my class and civil batch for 82 students we have I think 5 to 6 teachers and that is good enough total we have 7 subjects so they are 2to3 subjects that is not from our core branch so we have teachers who are specialised or PhD holders or pursuing so the facilities are really like they are really strict and very attentive
Interview Experience
All the admission the only criteria is to qualify the written test and get in the merit list and after the counselling you get the seat or the admission letter admission is based on the merit list there is no GD or interview you just have to qualify the test and merit list
Night Life
In our college there is no girls hostel so we we can't stay in college campus in night that is con of our college so I can't tell about the nightlife of college but for over all city there is not much nightlife because it is not that safe for girls here so I haven't experienced the night life till now
Other Applied Colleges
Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Civil Engineering)
Because the college I'm currently in is a government college and my parents think it's a better option
