Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum has good approach and I decided for this course as ECE is a growing branch now a days. The lab experiments helps you to apply the theoretical knowledge and learn the practical side of it. In my sight the curriculum has no points of improvement. The only this to be added is programming subjects as main subject. They were given as electives in our course. The timings for exams is perfect.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are quite good. This time good companies visited our campus. Although package offered by majority of them was 5-8 lpa, but they are good companies to start with. Highest package was given 13 lpa for domestic and 53 lpa as international package (Japan). Students are eligible for their placement from 6th sem end. Companies like Accenture, Infosys, Oracle, Thermo Fisher, Deloitte, Cognizant, Capgemini, Manhattan, Outcomes, IBM and many more visited for 1-6 offers. Some visited for 10 offers. Almost every student has 2 offers. Till now 60% students are placed and still counting. I have been placed in Accenture and would be continuing there itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee is 185000/- for ECE students who took admission through ComedK exam. Students who took admission by KCET, paid 85000/- and same for management paid 300000/- This amount is fixed. No changes are there throughout the course. Apart from this students have to pay 1680/- to 2500/- as university exam charges every semester. For me the fee was 185000/- and it was broken down as- Tution fees 95000/- Lab charges 15000/- Caution fees 20000/- Development fee 30000/- Other charges 25000/- No scholarship for comedK students. They can only apply for national scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest is Cultura in June. It is celebrated in a very grand way. Other fest is Aura (inter department fest) organised in November. Sports fest - Spardha is also organised in December. Ethnic Day is also celebrated in mid May. Library is opened every day (8 am - 12 am). Almost all the books are available. You can issue 2 books at a time for 20 days and can be extended if required. All classes have digital board. AV hall is also given for any seminar. Sports and extra activities are discussed earlier. There are so many groups and clubs running by students in all activities. Some are Iris - Photography club Pregos - dance club Take a bow- Drama club Arted- art club Kryptonite- fashion club Minerva- Literature club Apart from this Nss, Yoga, Rotary clubs are also there. Technical clubs are - Coding Ninjas, Muses, IEEE etc Many other clubs are also present.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are very good Room size is very big and 3 types of accomodation is provided - single, double and four. You can convert 4 sharing to triple sharing as well. Good size bws is given along with table, chair and book shelf. Laundry facilities is given. 24x7 wifi and separate hot and normal water in washroom. Water dispensers are provided on each floor. Students have to share common washroom. 3 washroom+ 3 bathing area ( left side of hostel floor) and 8 washroom+ 8 bathing area (right side of hostel floor). Washrooms are cleaned twice a day. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Proper ventilation is also given. The meal quality is average. Menu is made based on North + south indian dishes. Now a days they have improved in taste matters. The registration process is same as college registration. One should reach accounts section, fill the form, pay 50% fees and take an id card and you are ready to shift. Rest 50% has to be paid within next 3 months.

Admission

According to comedK rank, I got this college. Branch choosing was my preference reason I already discussed earlier. Admission process for all colleges under comedK is same - comedK counselling. Cutoff for my time was 17k for ECE in cmrit

Faculty

4

Faculties are very good. They have good knowledge on their own respective subjects. Some faculty are strict enough to scold everytime even if you ask doubts but other hand some teachers are very friendly that they will guide you personally at your every decision step. The faculties are always available in college staff room as well as you can text them via WhatsApp for any other questions. A faculty is assigned to all students aa their mentor who guide them in their whole BE journey. I interacted almost all the faculties and the faculties which I liked are Dr Pappa M (hod and my mentor), Prof Raveesh Hegde, Prof Suganya J, Dr Nidhi Vaishnav, Prof Keka, Dr Sutapa Sarkar, Dr Venkatesh M and Dr Viji. These all are the best faculty of CMRIT ECE department. Other teachers are also good but I liked them more because of their outstanding teaching style, helping nature and guidance. A new faculty came this year named Dr Rangeet Mitra. I don't like him because he will never clear you doubts just give you taunts when you ask him anything. There were 3 iats of 50 each now reduced to 2 iats in new scheme. The iat carry 50% weitage of your total marks. Also assignment and project marks are added. We needed to do a mooc for +5 marks. The university exam would be conducted at end of semester of 100 marks which is reduced in 50. Together they make 100 marks (50 iat + 50 end sem). Iats are easy, if you make proper notes in class you can score 45+ in all iats out of 50

Night Life

2

Classes are held from 8 am to 4 pm including breaks. After 4pm students aget involve in their respective activities or go out with friends for snacks etc. This college is located at a very prime location, Aces layout, kundlahalli which have all the access. This there are many hangout spots outside the college. Some are - juice world, Teaholic, Sahukar chai etc. No night life related to college students as they are not allowed after 8pm. Only hostel students can access the campus upto 9pm.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
