Likes

Aesthetics of the college are really nice.
Public bus facility is just right outside the college.
Area is not too in the city or far from it.

Dislikes

Area of the overall institution is low..
Insufficient number of handwashes in the campus.
Few other things could have been better.

Course Curriculum Overview

We have 2 series and a semester exam in one semester along with 3-4 assignments that vary upon the teachers. Like that we have 8 semester over the course of 4 years with semester breaks around and after every even sem. Though the availability and length of sem breaks arent that predicable, its always happy to hav sem breaks.

Class Size: 56Course Fees: INR 27000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The number of internships offered at our campus is low, but we can collab with other companies and institutions for the same. One of the major advantages of being a student is part doing internships and visits to a lot of companies.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible after 6th semester. Companies like tcs, tata lxi, nsk, nissan are few of the companies that came. The overall placement is kinda low but thats kinda true for all engineering colleges nowadays.

Fees and Financial Aid

You'll get a huge discount in fee if you are in fee waiver scheme, that is you have the highest entrance mark in your particular class. I knew about this only after joining the classes. There are other quotas as well.

Campus Life

Our cultural fest is the best in whole of trivandrum and one of the best in Kerala. Its called 'cult a way' and no TVMian would have gone without hearing this name. Other fest include our technical fest, arts festival, movie festival, and so on. We have a lot of clubs here at sctce, and each is an opportunity to develop our skills like we want.

Admission

The main exam to be passed to get into sctce is to clear KEAM, an exam conducted by cee kerala. For different departments, the rankings also differ which we can analyse by previous allotments. Other options are management, nri qoutas etc.

Faculty

So to get btech degree under ktu, the number of papers we have to clear is around 50-55. Sctce is under kerala technical University. We have a good number of pass percentage and the difficulty level is average.

Interview Experience

For admission we had to write keam exams, and clear it with proper cut offs and all. The difficulty of the exam is average and is easily crackable if you have proper base during your 11th and 12th grade classes.

Night Life

Inside we have the famous 'aalmaram', stage, cult step, library. Outside we have gg (a definite spot), desi cuppa, kumar tea stall, adams juice, pizza hut, and far more. Food isnt a problem here!! Evrtg is just a minute away

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester students become eligible for placements. The top recruiters in it sectors are Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, Wipro, UST GLOBAL, IBM. The top recruiters in other sectors are Mu Sigma, Ernst and young,, federal Bank, h and r block. Most of the placement are in it and related sectors. The average package is 4 to 6 lpa.The highest package is 34 lpa in Amazon. In 2024, 35 percent of students got placed. I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

My College days

Remarks:

I loved my department. But some of the management decisions made bad impacts on students and they hate the college. Faculties were good. As I already said 4 to 5 professors were so good in teaching and rest of them makes the learning experience a nightmare.

I choose this college because it has vibrant campus life and freedom.It also has good placement records,good pass percentage. I also took due to distance advantage.This college also has good faculty, teaching. Although the campus is small, the infrastructure is well maintained. It has well structured labs.I also looked for cet, Trivandrum but I didn't get it because of my keam rank. The exam accepted for the course is keam and most of the students prefer it. A quick sneak peak to SCT College of Engineering

I acually applied for Emmanuel college vazhichal for the curse of biotechnology andbotany . I got the admission right away but the problem was with the distance. A closer look at the hidden gems of campus living

I totally applied only to three colleges. I choose this college because at that time it was in top 11 colleges in kerala. On the trial allotment itself i got merit seat in this college.This college was near to my home district. I didn't get rejected from other two colleges . To get admitted We have to clear keam exam conducted by the kerala government. To have a merit seat one must have comparatively good rank. Seats are also available in management quota and nri.
