It offers an opportunity to meet a diverse range of people , which helps in building connection and expanding perspectives.
The chance to engage in various extracurricular activities like clubs and sports,allow me to explore personal interests outside of academics
College provides access to a wealth of resources,such as libraries, labs which help in enhancing learning

Dislikes

The pressure to maintain a good score is very much stressful specially when trying to balance assignment, exam and personal life
Another downside is the cost of tuition and other fees. Even with scholarship and financial aid, the financial burden can still be significant.
The large class size can also make it hard to get individual attention from professors

Course Curriculum Overview

Actually I was really good in mathematics since class 10 and I really want to know this subject in deep .That's why I chose this course. Mathematics is everything. It is the basic thing in any other field . The topics like differentiation, integration, permutation, combination are very much related to technical field

I paid around 12000 in a year basis. In a year our college conduct 2 semester and each semester costs 6000. Tuition fee- 660 Session fee-220 Second campus fee-250 Research Center Dev. Fee -250 Other fee-200 Library caution money-150 Lab fee-890 Lab development fee-200 Admission fee- 450 Centenary building fee-350 Certificate course fee- 750 Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is available in this college and the amount is 18000

Campus Life

There are many types of festivals like saraswati puja in February, holi festival, freshers programme, farewell programme,organised by our college. In winter the sports events like 100m,200m,relay race, short put, skipping for girls, badminton tournament happened. Also Inter college cricket tournament named APL- Asutosh Premier league also hosted by our college

Admission

At first I applied in Presidency College and I also got selected in mathematics department. But the distance of the college from my home is quiet far so I chose Asutosh College. The admission was being held in the basis of our class 12 th number.

Faculty

The faculty to student ration is 1:20. The faculty to student relationship is very much good. They are very helpful for us. I like the HR of our department Mr. Prabir Rudra. He is an excellent faculty. The style of his teaching is really impressive. Along with him the other faculty members are also very kind and helpful. I feel glad to meet them in my life

Night Life

My favourite hangout spot in college is 23 pally . I and my friends were hangedout in this place whenever we have got free time. This is the best place in our college life. We also hangedout in Chaiadda, Moon light cafe etc

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. In our batch, we are 21 students who come regularly, the faculties are 6, whereas 2 lab attendants. All faculties are MSc and 4 of them have PhDs. Yes, in our college it takes an internal exam & that's very tough.

Coolest College Asutosh

I applied in a lot of colleges such as presidency, st Xavier's College Kolkata, Lady Brabourne, Loreto , Scottish Church got accepted in scottish, Loreto , brabourne I chose Asutosh because they made me feel comfortable and has the best geography department. A memorable time to remember

I have applied for Dinabandhu Andrews College and also New Alipore College for mathematics hons and I got selected for both the colleges and I started class in Dinabandhu Andrews College for few days but there the faculty used to talk in Bengali and the faculty members are not really good also the ambience so I applied in Asutosh College and I got selected too over there....so I shifted to Asutosh College, as I always wanted to persue this course from Asutosh College due to there faculty in this subject is really very good. I applied for Bangabashi college, Surendranath college, Vidyasagar college... but Asutosh College was my dream...because it is the best co-ed college for Psychology...that's why everyone who wants to study psychology literally craves for the department..I was also one of them..and I'm really grateful to God for helping me to get into this college. An honest opinion by a recent graduate

I applied to presidency, st. Xavier's, but as I was from Covid batch, I couldn't meet the required cutoff for those colleges. So yes I got rejection from them. Had I given my ISC board exams, I believe I'd have scored better marks, but hard luck :) I willingly chose this college over the other colleges of Calcutta University, considering this is the best. This college gets numerous applications, so it might be difficult to get the admission, but work upon your merit and connections. There's no entrance. You need to meet their eligibility criteria which keeps get changing, so refer to their website. Your merit will be considered. You must have a good network as well.
