Course Curriculum Overview

4

Industry-Relevant Curriculum the he program integrates current industries technologies, ensuring students are prepared for the job market and also tpp( training placement program) is the key deatue which help students for real world applications or further academic pursuits..The emphasis on hands-on projects, internships, and workshops enables students to gain practical experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee structure of my course[ Btech cse ] in CGC, college of engineering, landran mohali is about 1 lakh. The registration fees is included in the tution fee , you don't have to pay extra for the registration. The tution fees for other BTECH Courses is mostly similar like AIDS and AIML etc. The scholarship like Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC/ST Category Students , sc/st of punjab etc is provided to students in the college. There are also other scholarships for students, we can check it on cgc landran official website .At end i can say , cgc, college of engineering, landran can be a very good choice for the students for BTECH Courses.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience of this campus life is pretty good but there are improvements that can be done. Only two annual festivals is held in one year for 2 days continuously. One grand festival is held around the month of November and there is freshers party for the freshers students. So the students in this can enjoy fully during their campus life . In addition every festival of any religion is held and celebrated, so this college can be fun for every student there.

Admission

I choosed this college because of its placement drives and the facilities provided to students in the tution fees . The tution fees of this college is less as compared to other colleges and also provide very large variety of facilities to students for their development for their college as well as personal life .

Faculty

4

The faculty and students relationship is very good . Teachers are good with students and they help a lot to students with their studies and further future plans . As the exams are nearby , teachers help us with the strategies for the exams and tell us how to attempt the papers , so it becomes easy for us to sit for the exams . There are mainly 5 important exams for every course in each semester.

Interview Experience

5

Yeah you can give written test for the college entrance but it is not compulsory, you can just take admission clearly based on your 12th standard percentage.Students can also get scholarship during admissions depending upon the criteria .

Night Life

5

After the college is over or the classes are over there are many hang out places where friends and meet and sit and joke around. There is food court in our college which is a very good spot for hangout and then if students wants to go out , as our college is around chandigarh, there are many malls and places and cafes to hangout .

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
