What Students Say
Likes
- The equipment is rather neat. As in, they work very well for the tasks we are assigned to. Additionally, there are Computer labs specifically for productivity with maxed out PCs
- The classrooms are well built and all A/C equipped.
- There are smart boards installed now instead of traditional black or green boards
Dislikes
- Canteen space is rather cramped during long breaks
- There were A/C breakdowns last year. Seem to be working now.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is relevant to the branch. As the college is autonomous, they gain opportunities to explore other ways of approaching the curriculum. The frequency of exams isn't a potential for problems. Issues arise when the student is bombarded with courses and subjects. It isn't much of an issue if the electives are avoided but taking up electives has its own merits
Internships Opportunities
The internships offered are usually by start ups. Mostly, the college just provides sources of internships. They have a dedicated cell for internships and placements. The projects are mostly entry level. At times, you can get a chance for inhouse internships.
Placement Experience
Placements are available in college but in recent years, there is seen a considerable drop in the CTC. Additionally, due to decreasing demand, gaining a job is getting difficult for freshers. I would prefer getting a Masters degree after on to get better chances at landing a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees as of 2023 during my admission were 1,36,000 INR. As for scholarships, they are dependant on the admission criterias. There are financial aids available in form of tfws category of admission. Some of my friends applied via the same. The amount I mentioned above is the full fees applicable of open criteria students without financial aid. Financial aid cuts down the costs to close to 50% to 60%
Campus Life
The campus life is good and the college environment is well maintained. The surroundung area might be repeling though. The college's main fest is called VERVE and it is held around early february. The provisions provided by the college facility is well maintained and comfortable. There are mutiple clubs one coukd participate in.
Admission
This college us located in Mumbai (the main reason) and its closer to the central and harbour (specifically harbour) lines of railway. The other college I applied to was located in Aurangabad. I had this college allotted to me during the CAP rounds. Its location in major city of India and well equipped labs made me prefer it. The college has entry through CET and JEE examination. Not the highest ranked but the CET cut off in considerably high. I tried to get into VJTI but my score was lacking.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1 to 30. The faculties are calm and composed in my experience and assist the students whenever necessary. My favourite faculty was sir Ajit Khachane. He is an exoert in his field and explains concepts in detail making it easier for us to look into the background of it. The exam structure keeps on changing but this time they have adopted to 2 MSEs (Mid Semester Examinations) and 1 ESE (End Semester Examination) along with ISA (In Semester Assessment). The MSEs are conducted on mondays. The exams are on the easier side if you attend lectures. Nothing out of the box. The ciurse curriculum allows us to gain a good start on divisions of computer engineering but to get to the depth, we need to put our own efforts.
Night Life
The college closes at 8 pm and mostly, a bunch of activities are up till 8. During festivals though, the college is active till mid night for celebration. There is no hostel in college so that's that.
