The infrastructure of our college is great and well maintained.
The faculties are very flexible and always available for the students.
The environment of the college is very refreshing.

The bathroom is not hygienically well maintained.

There is no availablity of food inside the college campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

The specific aspects of the curriculum that influenced me to choose this course is mainly my interest on music. The curriculum prepares me for real world applications very well by persuing me to sing in various occasions and college fest.

Internships Opportunities

Some companies that offered roles under University of Calcutta are tcs, cognizant, wipro, accenture, Capgemini, hsbc, Deloitte etc. The companies recruit on basis of the outcome of the individual projects made by the following students on their linkdin account.

Placement Experience

There are no campus placement in our college. The employability rate of our college is not that much great and my plans after completing the course is get accounted for the education facility of certain primary school or high schools.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fee structure of our college is 4500 per year and there is 550 rs as exam fees excluding the total fee structure. The scolarchip that our college receives is SVMCM scholarship.The amount svmcm scholarship provide is 24000 rupees per year.

Campus Life

In our college a festival named basanta utsav is celebrated during the spring season of the year. And the teachers day also gloriously celebrated. There is no social groups, clubs in our college. Although the books and journals are available in our library we can't issue them.

Admission

Previously I applied for Rabindra Bharati University but don't get the confirmation until I got admitted in this college. So I choose to study from this college leaving the Rabindra Bharati University out of my options.

Faculty

The faculty is very flexible and very much available for the students. They are also very easy to approach for the students doubts. There are 4 semesters in our course. The course structure is very well organised . the exams are quite difficult.

Night Life

The favourite hangout place for the students is Rabindra sarobar lake which is situated outside the college campus. There are also some cafeterias surrounding the college which sometimes becomes the hotspot for the students.

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for camous placemens from the third semester onwards. Companies that have visited the Departmet of Comparative Literature witth campus placements offers are SVF, Hoichoi, Radio Mirchi, Papertrue, LearningMate, among others. Highest package offered by companies is 8.5 LPA Percentage of students getting placements is 85% My plans after getting my MA degree is to go for a PhD.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

i applied to the National University of Singapore where i got admission in the Economics course but had to take back my offer due to personal reasons. moreover i tried for colleges in Delhi University however my score wasnt adequate for the college i wanted for economics so i had to stay back in this college which otherwise was my choice over any other college. the admission process here is rather tedious, you have to get your registration form for this college signed by your school principal with your picture and get that along with all other original documents during the document verification day, eligibility i believe includes the presence of mathematics at any cost. the cutoffs here go pretty high, especially for economics, calculated on a maths+best of 4 basis out of 200....Read More

Perfect campus for economics student

Admission process are very simple. Generally entrance exam was conducted for admission but I took admission just after COVID so I didn't give any entrance exam. But cutt off was very high. At least 70 percent marks in graduation are mandatory to take admission in this university on the merit basis. Application form are generally found on University official website in August.
