Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is not much relevant in any of the branches. But this case is not only in here but in all other colleges so never be dependent on college and study on your own. We have midsem of 20-25 marks and endsem of 40-50 marks depending upon the subject and rest are of practical and internal grading.I hate the fact that we have to make practical file in 4-5 subjects in core branches which consumes a lot of time

Internships Opportunities

4

I don't know much about stipend and roles offered by them but require a high cgpa and good skills to bag a good internship. You have to have atleast 2 projects and very good skills. Internship starts from 3rd year

Placement Experience

4

Students from 3rd year or 5th semester are eligible for internship and after completing their 7th semester, each student either go for doing internship or do a project under a professor. For checking the name and no. Of companies visited, you can check the TPO website of mnnit for accurate data. But major companies like google adobe goldman sacchs and nvidia visit the campus. The placement percentage is around 80%. The average package of cse is 28 lakhs and ece is around 20 lakhs and highest placement is around 71 lakhs on campus and off campus if 1.35cr.

Fees and Financial Aid

First semester has fees of 98500 including hostel fees of 12k institute fee and user charges 10k and 9k respectively caution money of 5k and tuition fee of 62500. Mess fess of 25k per semester. Consecutive semester has 5k rupees less. If you're from reserved category (sc/st) in then you've to only pay hostel fees and all your money will be refunded after 1st year. If you're ews lying in 1-5 lakh income category or obc ncl then all your fees will be refunded except hostel fees. There are various scholarships. Like if you're from UP then you'll have UP scholarship. You can also search for various scholarships online relates to mnnit allahbad

Campus Life

4

Cultural event culrav and techfest avishkar happens usually around November. All books are accessible to students but the no. Of copies are not sufficient. The books are usually preoccupied by students. All facilities like projectors and AC are available in almost all classrooms. All cultural and technical clubs are present as mentioned earlier. Many student run portals and instagram pages are there for different clubs and commities

Hostel Facilities

3

In the first year, boys have hostel named swami vivekanand boys hostel in which all rooms are shared by 4 people. All basic facilities like 24hrs water supply, geysers ,showers are present. Bathrooms are cleaned everyday and rooms are also cleaned Twice a week by the workers. Hostels are quite affordable with fees of 12k per semester. In second and third years there are 2 sharing rooms known as patel hostel and tilak hostel.in the final year we have single sharing room known as new boys hostel.Mess food quality is quite great and in the menu we have paneer mix veg daal aloo chole litti chokha gulab jamun etc. the menu has enough variety.

Admission

Due to its placement statistics. I chose this college over NIT rourkela because of placement is better here and it is near to my home. The admission process is same as any college which we get through josaa or csab counselling. For cut offs, you can check josaa and csab opening closing ranks of 2024. But for getting cse here you need to get 4-5k rank jee mains or around 99.7-99.8 percentile.I didn't NIT warangal/trichy/surathkal ece

Faculty

2

Faculties to student ratio is not quite good like there are approximately 300 faculties and 100 phd scholars for 4000 students in the institute. Some faculties are supportive and some are not. Most faculties don't teach properly so you have to study in your own. There are 2 exams per semester one endsem and one midsem. The difficulty to score in exams depends upon the branch but usually it is easy to score 8+ cgpa even if you study 2-3 weeks before your endsem and 1 week before midsem. The course curriculum is not much relevant like other colleges so you have to upskill yourself on your own but seniors will help. You'll also get guidance from your seniors through SMP(student mentorship program) through continuous smp meets so you'll get enough resources to study

Night Life

4

For first year boys, the intime is 10:00 pm and for girls it is 9;00pm. And for first year the students are not allowed to roam around the campus during the first month of the college known as probation period. They can only attend their classes and spend time in hostel. After first year there is no intime for boys but girls have a intime of 11:00 pm. Since allahbad is tier -2 city there is not much places to hangout except sangam and civil lines. No it is not safe to roam around at night in the locality, especially for girls

Course Curriculum Overview:

This criteria for choosing the college was because of placements. The curriculum Is outdated and not as per the industry requirements. In 1st year we are taught only one language and which is of no use.... That is C. But in other universities, students are taught languages like java, C++, python in their 1st year. Teachers are good. I have no issues with them but I have issues with its curriculum. Exam are taken so much which are according to me good as they prepare as for university exams but as I consider placement point of view so students do not have enough time to prepare for their placements, learning new skills as we are supposed to study for exams otherwise we will have to attend extra exams and classes and will lose internal marks. So having many exams have both benefits and drawbacks.
