Nit Rourkela: Efforts doesn't go in vain

Since my childhood i was fascinated towards civil engineering, especially it provides 200 seats reservation for grade 1 govt jobs.However the on campus placement ratio is not up to the mark.nearly 1 exam we have to face in a interval of 3-4 months.

Those students who are more inclined towrds software line companies like Microsoft, oracle have offered various roles which mainly focuses on coding activities and software development activites. According to the reports around four hundred students secured internships where stipend was approx forty thousand per month

Basically from sixth semester we are eligible for the campus placements and ths approximate number of companies visited would be more than three hundred and the job offers would be nearly thirteen thousand. The average package was nearly thirteen lakhs and the highest package that was recorded was one crore and twenty lakhs. The placement percent is more than ninety percent

The total fee structure for the entire course is 9,20,000.which includes tuition fees(62500),student activity fee(2000),medical fee(2000),hostel seat rent(5000),student activity fee(2000) ,caution fee(10000),institute emergency fund(12500),hostel stabilisation fee(5000),mess advanced fee(30000),other fees(5000 per sem).total sem fee(1,36,500).the institute provides scholarship on the basis of income . The students whose income is below one lakh their tution fees is completely levied. and from 1-5 lakh income group , they have to pay 1/3 rd of the tutuion fees.

There are many fests which are conducted in the college which give students some relaxation . Innovision, cosmopolitan, nitrustav, roots are some names of the fests which are conducted. The library contains more than ninety thousand books and it provides a peaceful environment for studying during the semester exams . All the classes are air conditioned, projectors and digital boards revolutionize the education. All types of sports are played in our campus.

In our hostel rooms , beds, chairs and tables are available. And free wifi is available twenty four hours. The quality of mess food is moderate but hygiene is maintained . Every week there is a cleaning of the mess to ensure that there is no attack of the pests. For the entry to hostel , we need to fulfil some required formalities and we with our luggage can get a entry.

I applied for all the prestigious nits and iits but couldn't make it to any of the iits because of my low rank in advanced so i decided to go for nits and nit rourkela is considered as one of the top most nits and I was getting a good branch in this nit. For the qualifying exam we need to give the joint entrance examinations which is considered as one of the most toughest examinations and the cutoff for general category was ninety three percentile this time

The faculty to students ratio is 1/10.The faculties have done their masters from reputed IIts.Especially our mechanics professor dr suman roy is very responsive towards all our queries and teaches extremely well.the exams are moderately hard. and most of the questions come from the notes and assignments.

There are ten hostels in our campus and each hostel contains its own gym, cafeteria and a reading room. All types of facilities are available in our campus . Before 10:30 pm we need to be in our respective rooms . Basically these restrictions are for first year students only. Dosa plaza , hexagon canteen, dominos are some cafeteria spots where we can hangout with our friends
