Remarks

Positive review about the college is that it provides a soothing environment and good teaching and learning atmosphere. There are good faculty members ,good laboratories and good infrastructure that clearly supports us students.The only negative review is that we have a limitations of space

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very good. They provide a adjustable curriculum which is very comfortable for the students.All activities are scheduled in such way that it does not interfere in our studying system.

Internships Opportunities

No, currently our college is not providing any internships. But the college really support us doing internships outside the college.They help us in finding good internship courses which are good for us students.

Placement Experience

There are many companies that come to our college. The placement cell is very active in our college and the teachers work hard to bring many companies to our college for recruitment.Some of the companies that come to our college are wipro, TCS, tata alexi etc

College Events

The events that we celebrate in our college are arts festival , sports day, college fest and other than that We also celebrate regional fetivals like onam , christmas etc. All these events are mostly funded by college and some well wishers outside college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are mainly four sets of fee structures in our college one foe government quota. Another for the management quota another for the Ksrtc quota nad then the NRI quota. Fee structure Government quota: 35,000 Mangement quota : 65000 Ksrtc quota :75,000 NRI quota: 1,00,000

Fees and Financial Aid

Actually i don't know about any scholarships by our college because i haven't availed any. But college give scholarships for good and brilliant students. They help the students who are financially weak.

Campus Life

The lab facilities are the best in our college. We got the second largest mechanical workshop in kerala. There are separate clubs that look into the other activities like literature , sports etc.All the clubs are supervised by a senior lecturer. We have very good and healthy functioning activity clubs.

Hostel Facilities

The infrastructure of the hostel is very good and healthy.They aare strict and always in supervision of the sir who is in charge of the hostel and the students. No bad activities are promoted in the college hostel. Students are given strict orders About the the time they should enter the hostel. They are given good and healthy food.

External Expense: More Than Rs.15000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the senior students and alumnis are very helpful. Our seniors help us by lending their study materials and previous year question paper etc. They are very friendly and we don't have any problems like ragging or such things in our college. The alumnis help us financially if some big event is about to happen in our college

Exam Structure

For the exam structure the college actually follows the one recommended by the university.We have monthly series exams and university exams at the end of the semester. Other than that we have weekly class tests and viva almost every day

Admission

I got admission by regular entrance exam conducted by the government of kerala. After the first allotment i got my name in another college and also different course. After the second allotment i just got allotted to this college. I went to the college gave the copy of the allotment list and my rank list and did the formalities and got alloted to the college.

Faculty

The faculty in the college are so good. They are very supportive and caring they help is to get hood scores on our exams. They are also very strict and does not allow us to go weak in our studies. They tech their portions in time and give us necessary tests and questions to revise.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I choose this college because it has vibrant campus life and freedom.It also has good placement records,good pass percentage. I also took due to distance advantage.This college also has good faculty, teaching. Although the campus is small, the infrastructure is well maintained. It has well structured labs.I also looked for cet, Trivandrum but I didn't get it because of my keam rank. The exam accepted for the course is keam and most of the students prefer it. Students can also join this college by nri quota without any entrance exam by giving more fees.I got admission in ece in sctce in the keam 1st allotment itself....Read More

SCTCE- A WORTHWHILE EXPERIENCE

A look inside Sct - Campus life, Academics and more

The main reason I chose this college was because this as under the Government of Kerala. It is held jointly by both government and ksrtc. This the standard of teachers will be better than other private colleges and campus life would be better as well. I have gotten confirmed admission from Amritha University and FISAT. I chose Sct because of the above given reason and also because of its location in trivandrum. I had applied to both Cet and Gect but I didn't pass the cutoff. The admission price for SCTCE is through KEAM which is held by the government of Kerala. I attended KEAM and scored a rank of around 14.5 K., I was eager to select this course as I loved biology as well as technology. cutoffs around 20k rank in the KEAM exam, the application form was directly via The KEAM portal for merit, management seats.
