Course Curriculum Overview
As a literature enthusiast, I completely love my course and the friendly atmosphere in the classroom is more engaging for me than a normal classroom. The curriculum has a wide spectrum of subjects with electives that provide ample information and opportunity for someone who is willing to learn.
Internships Opportunities
the college provides external as well as internal internship opportunities but one has to look out for them. Majority of internships compatible with an english degree are available in Media Science and Journalism, Library, and in Communication labs.
Placement Experience
The college prepares students for placement from first semester and they become eligible to apply for campus placements from the starting of fifth semester, or third year. Companies such as Infosys, Amazon, Infollion, TCS, and so on. The average package is around 1.5Lks and around 90% of students who apply for the placememts get their jobs. However, i haven't myself applied for any placement since i want to pursue my higher studies

The application fee is Rs. 5000/- and admission fees is Rs. 15000/- The fee structure is divided into six semesters with the first sem being Rs. 11200/- (3700/- for tuition, 5000/- for registration, and 2500/- for library), The second sem fees include: Rs. 26200/- The thrid sem fees include: Rs. 21200/- (same for fourth and fifth semester) The sixth semester fees include: Rs. 11200/- The percentage in boards results may provide one with fees wavier; 90% or more would cause 15000 wavier, 80% or more but less than 90% would cause 10000 wavier, 70% or more but less than 80% would cause 5000 wavier.
Campus Life
The university, depsite being a private one, throbs with cultural events as well as corporate visits, academic seminars, and conferences. Annual events such as Anandadhara, Creative fests, DeepFocus Short film competitions, anti ragging week, Mother language day, and so on are always keeping the atmosphere colorful. The library has a wide range of books and materials for all, although it lacks a varied range of books particularly for English and Literary studies. The classrooms are compatible with projectors and virtual learning scopes. There are many cultural clubs and organisations such as Cine Club, Drama Club, English Communications Club, and so on.
Admission
I applied to many government colleges in West Bengal such as Presidency University, Scottish Church, and Seth Anadaram Jaipuriar, but I didn't wait for my merit list and took admission in Brainware University for its affordability compared to other Private colleges such as Adamas or Amity. Brainware University admission process has no particular admission exams, and the main criteria for eligibility is only a good percentage in 12th Boards.
Faculty
The faculty in the department of English and Literary studies are very friendly and enthusiastic with a relatively good ratio of faculty-to-student. Professors such as Alankar Das Dalal, Utsab Ray, Pritam Bhoumik, and others are very knowledgeable and provide precise and comprehensive informations and knowledge to the students. The exams for each sem are divided into four parts: two class tests, one presentation, end sems, and assignments, providing ample flexibility for students to not only score better but to memorise and learn more effectively.
Interview Experience
The admission process was hassle free and there was no particular interview or groud discussions, but a simple self introductory session. The university has no entrance exam but provide counselling for those who are not sure which degree they would like to pursue
Night Life
The university has a dedicated building for yoga, gym, and theatrical practices with good infrastructure. The food court of the university is ever expanding and always booming with students, faculties, and visiting guests.
