Likes

Campus is very beautiful with amazing infrastructure.
The sport facility are very top notch and good.
Campus fest and events like Thomso and cognizance are very engaging and grand.

Dislikes

Peer pressure is too much at IITs. So working hard is important
Internship opportunities for core branches are very less.
Schedule is hectic due to too much classes and quizzes and exams

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very good but some courses feel irrelevant some time according to ongoing trend in industries and companies. So new curriculum which is introduced recently is better having AI and machine learning applications.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 1200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

My yearly fees is around 300000 but I got two scholarship in behalf of my parents annual income and my cgpa.so currently inhave to pay only hostel and mess fees. The fees for sc st candidates is totally 0 if they got free messing scheme too.

Campus Life

There are two major fest at IIT ROORKEE named as Thomso and cognizance. Our Library is very big with containing large number of resources ofline and online both. Classrooms are very spacious having ACs, projectors and good mic system. Sports facilities are also very good with having al large swimming pool.

Admission

On basis of my jee advanced rank I was given an option to choose between IIT Roorkee and IIT kgp and IIT Guwahati. But due to the extremely nice location and beautiful campus of IIT ROORKEE. I tend to choose it.

Faculty

Each student is allotted with a faculty advisor to whom they can discuss their academic issues. Faculties are very professional but friendly too. They also provide opportunities to students to work on their research projects.

Night Life

Our night life at IIT ROORKEE is very charming. The cafeteria at IIT ROORKEE remain open for 24 hours. Students are allowed to roam around campus and can discuss their projects without restriction. But proper security is provided with lots of guard and CCTV.

Oracle, Infosys, Magics and many more like in all Including GEU & GEHU around 150 companies came. Not all the technology but even finance and construction companies as for Civil not many choices are there but luckily our core jobs were provided and I am happy it happened.

Good place for your undergraduate degree

Placement Experience:

placements are good here with a avg package of 5 lakhs but students who work reall hard get placemnts more than 10 lakhs the highest package at my time was of 58 lakhs and many got 10-20 lakhs package as well so i say placements aare decent here. Companies such as oracle adobe palalto visits here and they give higher packages to students.

Placement Experience:

After completing 3rd year students are offered for internship.From my university, placement offer for Btech students with an average package of 3 to 4 lakh. placement rates vary by program and year ,with some reporting over 70%placement with average salary of 2-3 lakh. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro,Tech Mahindra Etc. About 50-60%students got scholarship. Talking about the top roles that offered are software developer,data scientist and system analyst . After completing my course I,ll try to get on campus placement.

IIT ROORKEE - A SCRUPULOUS REVIEW

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. Moreover i choose it because of it's weather and location. Rest all things are similar to all top iits. Nothing is less in iit roorkee. You have to give jee main then jee advanced. If you get good rank , you will get this college. You will have to get air under 5000 to get in iit roorkee or any top iit....Read More

1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More
