Course Curriculum Overview

4

The courses in NSUT now a days are a bit computer science oriented. Almost each branch has subjects like computer programming where they tech python and DSA (Data structures and algorithms) where they teach interview level DSA in C language. In first semester, we have courses from all other branches other then your own. And you learn your own core courses in second semester. The courses are well designed and divided into various course objectives. We have dedicated labs to learn real world application of the subject. The written exams are held twice a semester along with some other class tests. The CGPA is calculated based on difficulty of subject and relative perfomance of other students.

Placement Experience

4

NSUT is known for its placement attracting highest package of above 1 crore and average package of about 17 crore. However, placements her also got a hit due to recession and COVID-19. On campus Internship is also provided here. People are eligible for on-campus internship in 3rd year while they can do internship of their own choice in 1st & 2nd year as well. Students of 4th year are allowed to sit for on-campus placements. Tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe visit the college on regular basis. Non-tech companies like Bain, mckinsey are also seen during placement season. Core companies visit here as well. I am still exploring if I should opt for tech or non-tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

NSUT is not at all affordable as compared to other government colleges. The total yearly fees hear excluding hostel and mess charges is about 240000. Out of this 2.4 lakhs, 95000 were paid during councelling session and the remaining 145000 for admission. Additionally fees here increases by 10-20% each year. College didn't provide any detailed breakup of the fees. There are many scholarships for SC, ST, EWS and OBC categories. General students has only one choice that is to be in top 5% of the batch to get a merit based scholarship.

Campus Life

3

Campus life here is a balanced one. You have one or two chill places like SC (Student canteen) and SAC (Student Activity Center). Other outlets like mother diary and amul are also about to open here. The biggest con is that this college is majorly for day scholars as it does not have high enough hostel capacity. Major fests here are moksha and resonanz which are one of the biggest fests in North India. Classes are well equipped with large LCDs and writing monitors. College has high quality artificial trough running track and also feature a gym as well along with some cricket, basketball, football and badminton grounds. There are a lot of clubs that you can be a part of like Enactus, Ecell, GDSC, 180 Degree Consulting Ashvamedh, Debsoc etc.

Admission

I had applied for the colleges like NSUT (Netaji Subhash University Of Technology), DTU (Delhi Technical University), IIITD (Indraprasth Institut Of Information Technology) and BITS Mesra (Ranchi). In BITS Mesra, I got 5 years Msc. in quantatative Economics and data science. In DTU it was engineering physics and in IIITD I could not land into any course. Out of all these, I chose electrical engineering at NSUT because of various reasons like duration of degree, vicinity from home, desired degree etc.

Faculty

3

There is no dobt about the qualification of faculty members. Most of them own degrees from IITs & NITs. However they have their own methodologies of teaching. Some are very harsh on students while others are chill. But faculty to student ratio here in NSUT is a bit poor. Faculties are always approachable whether during class or after class. Usually we have mid-sems and end-sems. In addition to these, we have class tests and lab practicals whose performance is counted for our internals.

Interview Experience

3

The admission in NSUT was solely based on our performance in JEE mains exam. For this exam, I had started my preparation from 11th class through Aakash educational services limited. There might be some other mode of admission in higher level degrees

Night Life

2

Night life around our college is not that great. There is some liveliness around the dwarka mor metro station which is just nearby. However night life inside college is sort of boring as there is no night canteen and hostel gates close around 10 pm.

The placement of my college is decent enough. If you are from Tech and circutial branches you can expect package ranging around 12-30lpa, and other than this you can expect somewhere between 8-15lpa for other branches. Overall the placement is quite good.

Placement Experience:

The fifth semester students become eligible for campus placements. The College organise placement, registration and shortlisting based on academic performance and semester marks. Many well-known companies visit the campus for hiring every year, including both mass recruitment and profile based offers students get opportunities in core companies as well as IT and consulting firms, the highest package offered in recent years has been competitive, and the average package is decent for most . A good percentage of students manage to secure placement through campus drives, but it also depends on students preparation and skill level students also get internships into placement offers. If a student does not get a campus placement, there are still good options for employability students to prepare for off campus placement, government exams or higher studies like Masters. Overall the placement environment is active and give students affair chance to start their careers.

Hmm , the course structure designed by them is very accurate and they first teach that course and then make compulsory to attend lab of same course in coming semester, this ensures that whatever we have learnt , we can apply that in real life as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is really very good, its updated and far better than even many renowned institutes. Along with your core CS subjects, there is also a minor stream which you'll have to select. The minor streams that they offer are Management, Computational Biology and Electronics. Students can enroll in any one based upon their preferences.
