My College Experience.

Talking about the course curriculum I chose Mechanical Engineering because I have deep interest in automobile sector, and wants to gain knowledge about their functions. The curriculum of the course here in NIT Raipur is very relevant for the same. As we are taught the subjects in a sequential manner from basics to advance so that it helps to build our foundation very strong. The areas of improvement in the curriculum according to me is we should have more on field knowledge then just theoretical studies about that field. The odd semester are of 5-6months and even semesters are a bit shorter of 4 months duration.

I have not opted for internship as I'm in second year currently. So there are internship opportunities from end of second year. But my seniors went for internship to various prominent college and industries around the country like IISC Bangalore, Bhilai Steel Plant etc. They have gained knowledge a lot from their internship experience. Also their goals get clear after getting practical experience in the industry.

In National Institute Of Technology Raipur, students become eligible for campus placement in their final year i.e. 7th and 8th semester. In 2023, Dassault System, Aditya Birla Group Reliance Industrial Limited etc. visited nit Raipur and give a decent placement offer to a few students. In 2024, Adobe, tata, amazon etc. come for on campus placement in our college.The NIT Raipur Placement Cell works to provide career opportunities for students by organising on campus placement and maintaining close contact with potential employers.

Talking about the fees structure of Bachelor Of Technology Course in NIT Raipur, it costs a semester fees of around 27000-28000 for general category. College also provide concession on the basis of financial status of family. Like if Annual income of a family is below 1,00,000 then around 60-70% concession on tution fees is applicable. Similarly if annual income lies between 1L-5L then concession of around 30-40% is applied. you can also avail national scholarship if you are a meritorious student, the NSP scholarship amount for Undergraduate students is of amount of 12,000 per year for the first three years of college.

There are a few cultural and tech fest organised in our college. Like Aavartan, central's India largest Tech Fest is organised by Technocracy club of our college. Also Samar, sports event is organised by shaurya club. Similarly Eklectica, organised by Sanskriti Club is the largest central India's largest cultural fest. A large number of books are available in our college Library. Also it's very easy to access them for issuing. A book issued once is for a month and the fine is just 50 paisa per day after the issue expired.

Talking about the colleges I have opted for. Truly speaking my top most priority in the list is NIT Raipur, as it is near to my hometown, also I have qualified for it by clearing the cut-off required in JEE-MAINS exam. The cutoff of JEE exams for different colleges vary every year.

Talking about the faculties of national Institute Of Technology, Raipur. They have great knowledge and experience in their field of expertise. They teach in a way so that the topic is clear to most of the students, by relating it with practical life examples. The facilities are available during the college hours for clearing out any doubts the students have. The difficulty level of exams here is moderate, it is required as setting the paper too easy will not be appropriate. It will not help the students to identify their potential and areas of improvement. Usually on an average 5-10 students fail in a particular subject, but they too get second chance to clear it in supplementary exams held in an interval of 15-25 days from the main semester exams.

Talking about the nightlife around college campus. I'm not in college hostel so I can only tell about nightlife around the campus. The nights are very fascinating. With lots of food stalls in front of the college, various entertainment. Also there is nearby park, so we can roam there in the evening. There is a gym in our college which is open for girls in the morning and for boys in the evening. There is plenty of equipments there. The area infront of the campus is very safe to roam in the nights. But the area behind the campus, near the Saraswati nagar railway station which is behind our campus is not safe for a student to roam at night. There are a few cases of robbery and misbehaviour registered from that area.
