Likes

I like our library area a lot its very peaceful
Our auditorium is very big and spacious and full ac facilities
The behaviour of teachers are very good and they guide us a lot

Dislikes

Everybody is not friendly enough they don't like to give us notes
Washroom is not clean and unhygienic pad machines don't work at all
Don't like unnecessary attitudes of NCC seniors very rude

My course is very professional course I get internship opportunities the method of teaching is quite impressive we have to build our communication skills and our teachers guides us alot our teachers helps us to take internship without any hassles they help us a lot for upcoming academic exams preparation love this college

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 7640 per year

Placement Experience

From 1st semester only students become eligible for campus placement many companies give opportunities like selvel and etc. There is no fixed percentage required in my course we have to make an assignment out of my experience in intership and college will give us marks after getting the degree in communicative English I'm gonna pursue my career in Journalism and Mass Communication

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 7640 monthly for this course I'm from general category so I'm paying quite higher than SC/ST They have scholarship opportunities like Swami Vivekananda one and merit wise also i think its reasonable

Campus Life

Our facilities in college is awesome and also NAAC rates us A+ across all colleges we have Societal groups like NSS and NCC here and I'm one of the volunteers in NSS i like the atmosphere here it impact us in a good way

Admission

I always wanted to get admission in basanti devi college because of internship opportunities good auditorium libraries and have many types of facilities like lab co curriculum activities and etc. But i also choose women's christian and asutosh college as a background option if I dont get qualified in Basanti devi college but at that time my luck is on my side only that's i get admission in my dream college only

Faculty

I heard that the exams are very tough as per Calcutta University make our papers many senior students have supply but if you study hard you can crack it. I think its quite easy let's see hehe. Teachers are very good with us and guide us lot and encourages us a lot very friendly teacher's Iove to study here I hav no regrets

Night Life

We don't have any facilities like gym but we have canteens library one of my friends told me the hostels timings are quite strict and also the locality is really safe to roam around. We have many famous hangout places outside of our college like bedouin deshapriya park and etc.

From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.
