Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum was based on clinical and patient interaction which influenced me to choose this course. I like to interact with the patients which I like .I also like the diagnosis and investigation of the patient to find the pathogenesis and rule out diseases and find out the probable disease the patient has.The curriculum is very good for real world applications like doing a CPR to save the patient and also for assessing the medical conditions of patient. The areas for improving course curriculum could be where cases are discussed and teaching could be case-oriented. The frequency of exams could be reduced like one exam in 2 weeks. The exams could be more case-oriented. But anyhow I am satisfied with the course curriculum and Teaching methods

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure in this institution is fairly comprehensive. For regular admissions the annual tuition fees is 4.5 lakh.Additional one time charges include 40000 for caution fees and 10000 each for registration and admission.Annual charges include 1 lakh for development fees and 50 thousand for lab fees ,12000 as examination fees and 10000 for books.Miscellaneous expenses include 50000 per year which bring the total fees to nearly 7.3 lakh per year. For students admitted through management quota the fees is much higher 17 lakh per year and through NRI lapsed seats 21 lakh per Government sponsored scholarship that are accepted in college include SC ST scholarship 4.5 lakh per year BC scholarship 10000 per year First graduate scholarship 1.25 lakh per year These scholarships are available only if family annual income is less than 1 lakh per year The hostel facility is good in hostel provide for 1 st year but not good later Food is good Teaching is bad and not very nice Not much patients in hospital very less clinical exposure Overall a better college for fees given

Campus Life

3

College life is not just about academics it is amalgation of learning , fun , social engagement and personal growth. A mass event where many college from various districts of our state attend this excluse MBBS fest called AFFINITY which is held for nearly one week in the month of July. Another event called Sangamam is also held where we can go and enjoy in month of June. There is dance , singing , dance recreation and a lot of sports games like khokho volleyball and throwball inter College events. There are lot of medical journals and books available but yet the books are of old edition which is quite disappointing and even there is very less copies of books available. There are previous year question banks available which is very good. There is a football , volleyball and throwball team.

Hostel Facilities

3

THE HOSTEL facility is very good here but there is suffi6place to dry clo6and clothes get stolen here which I hate the most about this college. The room has 3 fans it is a three sharing room . There is two switches and common geyser and water purifier available. The meal quality is good except on Sundays where morning is noodles and gobi rice for veg and chicken biryani or nonveg and idli on sunday nights.Monday morning dosa sambar afternoon sambar rasam curd with chicken . Everyday there is tea or coffee in the mor6and evening. There is also buttermilk everyday at night to drink. The food here is very good and tasty except on Thursday and Sunday when there is idly A lot of people don't like this food and order something else. Chappati on Wednesday and Monday night with egg and panneer.Wednesday afternoon is kara kulambu with spinach and egg gravy Thursday variety rice with gobi Friday payasam with sambar beetroot for lunch and morning vada and Pongal is breakfast. On Friday night Roti and chappati is provided Saturday snackasis puffs. The registration process for hostel is very simple by paying 1.4 lakh fees but I think it is not that affordable to pay such huge fees. No we didn't rent a room but the college itself provided

Admission

I applied to PSG medical college but I didn't satisfy the cutoff for that college. I got a confirmed admission letter from SRM Medical College Trichy and another college in Madurai. I didn't make it there since the fees for very high but the fees in this college are affordable. The admission process for this college is that you should come through Tamilnadu medical counselling Firstly you should apply for Self finance or management quota during counselling and wait in rounds to get your college-by-choice filling. If someone has no problem with fees then they can apply for both quotas be it management or government quota by paying 30000 for the self-finance quota and 1 lakh for the management quota.

Faculty

3

The faculties are good but they don't teach properly that's the irony. Some of the faculties like Ranjani mam ,Arifath mam and Jaya mam teach Pharmacology and Physiology so nice that I fell in awe of these subjects. The best faculty for Physio is Arifath mam and for Pharmacology is Ranjini mam And teaching in other subjects as the other teachers don't drive the students into understanding the concepts Some teachers in anatomy and Microbiology don't even teach properly and students sleep during their class There is IA every week on Saturday and they are moderate.Nearly half of the students fail to clear IA exams but may be 10 students don't clear the university exam. The course curriculum is overall good since they integrate clinical exposure

Night Life

There is a seperate gym in our college. And the timings for girls is from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. everyday in the morning except Mondays. And for boys other than this timing except on Monday everyday it is there . They can even go to gym in the even6as they are boys. There is CK cafe and also icecream and juice shops where variety of foods like choco icecream and fresh juices with chaat items are available. Watermelon juice pomegranate juice butterscotch icecreams and birthday cakes with burgers and sandwich is available. There is also a message where you can buy your favourite foods. Hostel timings is upto 6pm where girls cannot go out after 6 pm in the evening.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college strictly follows NMC rules and which is a very good thing as it helps us prepare for both theory and practical as theory give u the vast knowledge and practical allows us to imply what we learnt and also after the new rules of introducing histology we can also apply the idea of more creativity in a field a lot of creativity is yet to be unfolded they also cover important aspects through regular workshops and educate us with guest lectures from other colleges the important improvement which should be done is having the patience to teach a. Crowd of 250 which teachers should undergo special 2-3 classes to make sure they know what they teach is being reached out to everyone the timing of exam and everything is on time theh give us enough time to prepare and get ready
