Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is as per the NMC guidelines. The curriculum covers everything from teaching to practical classes to patients exposure. Faculties are very knowledgeable and try to give their best in teaching the topics.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship is provided by the hospital attached to the college itself. As per NMC guidelines, a student has to mandatory work as CRRI in hospital for one year. They are paid monthly Rs 25000-30000 (don't know the exact amount as I'm just third year student) Only after completing the internship duties, student gets his MBBS degree. During the course of one hear of internship, students are posted in various departments and have to handle the patients.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a government college, it is quite cheap. During the admission process we need to pay Rs.15000 as admission fee. There is no fee asked after that. We need to pay for record notebooks which accounts for almost Rs.3000 per year. And we also need to pay exam fees of almost Rs 11000 to 12000 for our university exams. If we unable to pass exams, we have to give supplimentary exam for which we have to pay exam fee again.. Apart from these no other fees is required. Hence it is very affordable.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is very dull. There are no clubs or sort of anything. There is no freshers party, culturals day is also very rarely organized, and same goes for any sports event. Library is well equipped with all varieties of books a student can need. There are functioning ACs for the comfort of students. Sports and extracurricular activities are nill. The students themselves play cricket, football. Student-run social groups/clubs are non-existent.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are three different hostel for boys and three different hostel for girls. (First year hostel, senior hostel, and CRRI hostel) Soon after the admission, student get rooms in first year hostel.. First year hostel rooms are small sized and are to be shared by two roommates. There are 2 cots for each student. One study table and one almirah which is to be shared by both room mates. There is one ceiling fan, no AC, hence rooms get quite hot during summer season In senior hostel, rooms are quite big. But each room is shared by 3 students. Each student is provided with personal cot, study table, and almirah. There are 2 ceiling fans, no AC. And becomes unbearable during summer nights. Meal quality provided in mess is very good. Menu includes:- Breakfast - tea, milk (daily), idli, dosa, idiyappam, puri, vada, sweet (halwa), pongal .... One dish on each day of week. Lunch - rice, curd, rasam, papad, sambhar, dry sabzi daily... Dinner - also good..

Admission

Eligibility of course : NEET-UG exam Application is via UG medical counselling NEET-UG is held every year, students can give the exam and participate in the counselling to get a seat. Getting a seat in any college is dependent on marks and ranks of NEET-UG exam Admission process is very smooth. And the staffs are quite helpful

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.
