Remarks
Pros - big well maintained campus, alumni network, industry reputation, Cons- large intake of students, faculty, fees, slightly overrated If you are delhiite than 85% seats are reserved for you and this college is worth going for but if you are an outside Delhi candidate than Dtu is not worth the efforts that you have put in
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is still developing and changing since I am the part of 1st batch. On paper the curriculum seems to be well designed and thought of but is not being implemented successfully. Exams are being conducted twice every semester with a jury.
Placement Experience
Placement are decent I would say , credits to the alumni network and reputation of college in the Industry for the very reason that it is an 78 years old established university. I just completed my 1st year and the college has it's own incubator and various societies. Yes the college provides internship to students in 3rd and 4th year stipend can range anywhere between 3k to 20k. if you are availing internships from incubator 1st year are paid upto 4k 2nd year upto 6k third year upto 12k and 4th year upto 20k
College Events
This is what DTU is famous for engifest, innova , aahvaan, name it and dtu has got you covered. Engifest being the most known off event , you can witness a 3 day long event including a punjabi night, an edm night and a Bollywood night.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In the middle but is becoming expensive year after year and is very close to catching IITs mark. This year the fee that needs to be paid is 1,66,000 and keeps on increasing 10% every year so you could very well calculate.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I personally don't have any quota but if you do have sc/st or obc quota you can avail upto 100% fee waiver. Actually it depends upon your academic year. Obc students are offered 50% fee waiver. Also economically weaker students could also apply for scholarship.
Campus Life
Labs are there, societies also exist of different types. Sports facilities are mediocre with equipments being less and students being more but is surely manageable , there is also an indoor complex for badminton, table tennis and pool
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network , yes and senior students help sometimes and ragging is not prevalent but you never know. You will get to know a lot seniors by joining societies and attending fests. They will introduce you to the campus and will also help you before you exams, maybe.
Admission
I First wrote an exam conducted by IIT Bombay called uceed which is a common entrance examination for bachelor's of design courses offered in various universities in India. Then I applied for DTU via their website and got selected according to merit.
Faculty
Their are two sides some are good and some are mediocre as well , I wont refer them as bad because most of them are passouts of prestigious colleges of our country, some even abroad. Teachers are helpful but don't expect very good quality of teaching because they themselves are there too for 50 % teaching and 50% formality.
