Remarks

The college management off lately has been a little slow. The reason can be the upcoming shift in the campus. Otherwise, the management is always helpful and active and we can reach out to them anytime we want.

Entrance Preview

Pearl Entrance Exam they didn't tell me my score, they just old me I got in. I opted for this college mainly because of their international exposure and influence. Asit is affiliated to NTU, it's teaching process and assessments are on the level of international universities. Their course structure, learning objectives and facilities lured me into joining. Top that off with great infrastructure and supportive faculty and you have a winner.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum at Pearl focuses on the individual growth of the student. It encourages one to form their opinion and style of working and producing work. Nothing is text-book oriented(in the fashion courses) and you are allowed to be yourself and produce work freely.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, they do. Every student has to go through a semester of field training where you can get the taste of how working in the fashion world is actually like. The stipend depends on the kind of work you are opting for, the lowest being 3-4k/month and it go on depending on your skill and interest. The teachers send students based on their performance in college assignments.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell of Pearl attracts many companies every year which include some of the top companies in the industry. There are job opportunities for good performers and enthusiastic workers. If you have interned somewhere, your contacts from that internship can make you enter the industry on your own two feet.

College Events

3

We have various events that happen regularly in our college. A series of Pow-Wow workshops happen every year in the start of the semester. These workshops let students choose art pursuits and pursue them for 3 days in a row. Many industry specialists are called and the workshops are usually more of entertainment and less of work. Secondly, we have our our annual cultural fest called Pearl Utsav, where we see many competitions and performers on the stage doing their thing. Diwali Mela- Students put up stall and get their bhangra scene on on this 2 day mela at Pearl. Christmas Fest- With crazy photobooths and amazing food stalls, this fest is a delight.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure as many will agree with me is on the plus side. The courses at Pearl take 2.5 lakhs-3.5 lakhs per semester depending on the course and year you are in. It's high value is attributed to the quality of education we receive here and the facilities and infrastructure of the buildings.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there is full and half scholarships given to high achievers at Pearl. The assessment of the same is done by the student's regularity in college, his performance overall and his repo with the teachers.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio as expected in a fashion college is considerably low on the male side. There is diversity in groups and cultures. We can also see international students here. The cultural societies take auditions every year and new talents are discovered. Students here are very open-minded and tolerant to other students. The economic status ranges form upper-middle class to upper class.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are situated within 2 km of the campus. They are usually in naraina vihar and are very homely and sufficient. The rooms are airy and are available on sharing basis. Their is pre-installed furniture. The wardens are very friendly. The average rental comes out to be 10k per person. The meals include a variety of Indian and continental food which is served at fixed timings.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network at Pearl is strong and enduring. We also have a site called Alma connect to connect with old peers, post job avail-abilities and interact.

Exam Structure

For my course, there are no exams. Yes, no exams, We do however have end-sem projects which are marked throughout the semester as formatives and summatives. We are given a holistic approach ensuring we learn everyday all day and our creative switch is never turned off.

Admission

I had given my entrance exam and was certain that i'd get in because it went amazing and my confidence was built up. As expected, I got a mail in my inbox asking me to appear for the interview. The interviewers were very inquisitive and challenging, making sure the candidate has adequate knowledge of the course and the fashion industry itself before considering her/him for the college. On top of that, one needed to have creative bend of mind which was showcased well in my portfolio of sketches and photography.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college has always been very supportive and kind. Their SDS system deals with student problems individually. Whenever you have a question or a query, you can directly meet them. If you have a problem with a teacher, even that is solved perfectly and the best of education is ensured. Every teacher is experienced and has worked in the industry. They can help you out a lot with internships or feed your general inquisitiveness.

students get elligible for campus placement in the fourth year. Although have heard some students say to focus more on skills as working in a studio will be better than placement and have also not heard such good news about the amount of students getting placement. my plans too is to focus on skills more than the grades as that would be more helpful and is whats needed more for the career i am going for, instead of the marks i got on writing theory in my answer sheets

Placement Experience:

Speaking about placements I have very little knowledge about it as I am in first year, but after engaging with some really helpful seniors there has been a good hype in the campus placements and I've also heard very reputable companies have accepted students from this college. Also to mention the most important part of this college is it has a 99% placement program which really stood out to me, while talkin to the administrative staff my interest piqued when I heard there was a student who got 12lakh per annum placement opportunity

College placements are good enough. A whole week is dedicated to that. Students get enough opportunities throughout the course and are offered jobs in 4th year. Even after that if placement hasn't happened, the college faculties have enough contacts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to opt for something related to marketing side or more like something that requires digital work. The faculty:student ratio is 1:40 in my batch. My faculty is very knowledgeable. I have a good experience in teaching (not all but mostly) with them. The term exams are timely scheduled and it is not easy to pass a exam but it is not also very difficult. If you work consistently throughput the semester you would score a good grade in the end.
