- The hostel facilities are comparatively good when considered along with the hostels of most universities

- The university hours seem to be constricting to the student’s hobbies.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum employs moot court competitions, inter-university debate competitions and Alternate dispute Resolution competitions to prepare the students for real world legal complexities and situations, which in turn helps them to be prepared for their future career. Perhaps, the area for improvement in the teaching curriculum could be by activities indulging and actively engaging students to fully capture their attention. Exams are conducted twice in a semester. Duration for mid semester is about 1.5 hours and for end semester exam is about 3 hours. The exams range from moderate to difficult level.
Internships Opportunities
I am currently unaware of the internship opportunities provided by the university. However placements and internships seem to be usually at courts and law firms and for first years, they are usually at organisations run by individuals funded by donations.
Placement Experience
Students usually become eligible for placements in the second semester of their final year. I am currently unaware of the companies that have visited Himachal Pradesh National Law University. U am also unaware of the current packages offered to students but to my knowledge, students with a CGPA higher than 7.5 are preferred by the company. Placement percentage is low. My plan after the degree include being employed at law firm, preferably in Shimla itseld

Campus Life
The campus life seems to be primarily focused on individual endeavours and achievements rather than promotions events enduring social and cultural values. The university has provided free access to a wide variety of online journals such as LexisNexis and Jstor. However the library seems to be rich but rather short of books required when considered along with the number of students. Few social events are held such as the Freshers party an Foundation day. Sports events such as basketball and table tennis are held. Students run various intellectual groups providing a way for students to interact with each other.
Hostel Facilities
Geysers, washing machines and sweeping services are provided to the all the students of the campus. Although the quality of food seems to be decent the same menu is repeated every three days which students are starting to grow tiresome of. The hostels are affordable as compared to other universities and contemporary hostel facilities.
Admission
I gave the CLAT exam with the aim to enter one of the national law universities. However, my utmost priority was to apply for HPNLU for it's locational benefits and for it's recommendation to me by acquaintences.
Faculty
A class generally holds about 50-60 students. The faculty is interactive and is keen to help the students on related subject matters. The faculty members I like include Dr Aayush Raj and Dr Honey Kumar. Dr Raj twists your perspective of contemporary world and helps you appreciate your culture without your view being muddled by the western concepts. Dr Kumar is ever so patient in explaining his concepts and loves to help out a student whenever the opportunity is presented. There is no one in particular that I am displeased with and clashes between the faculty and students are extremely rare. For each semester, two exams are conducted; Mid semester exams and Final semester exams. No exam is conducted at an easy level. The exams analyse the critical analysis skills of students and gauge their capabilities by putting them in different theoretical situations. Only a few students fail to clear the exam. The marking scheme seems to be strict. The course curriculum helps the students to view and analyse different subjects in the light of the legal context.
Night Life
Students usually tend to wind down around in the campus cafeteria (two of them exist), both are great in their prices and food. The campus also has a few gyms built in the hostels and they offer a friendly environment for the newcomers. The curfew for the hostel is about 9.00 PM.
