Likes

I like the companionship and unity of our college students. We all take unanimous decisions for welfare of all the students.
I like the respect between senior and juniors we all thing of as brothers and sisters for each .
I like the teachers and the exposure that we are provided with .

Dislikes

I have few concerns about our department building it should be repaired.
Our college at a very shady place which makes it difficult for us to spare time and sit in classes during winters and monsoon.
And we are supposed to wear uniforms every day as if we are in school still.

Course Curriculum Overview

Aspects and curriculum like moot courts and public speaking followed by client counselling and competitions etc every semester attracted me and influenced my decision of choosing this college over any other in my state. They teach us the required skills and give practical knowledge that we need and which will help is in our future pursuits respectively.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 45000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

In our college we have a versatile fee structure to be paid every semester . Students come having different merit and marks have different amount of fee to be paid . For every subsidised student fee is 30000 and for non subsidised it is 45000. Students also have scholarships for that they pay below 20000 rupees per semester.

Campus Life

We have alot of events and competitions that held every semester. We have national competitions like youth parliament and moot courts . Then we have sports meet also which also fosters physical well being of students and teachers both.

Admission

The admission process is very simple our marks that we got in 12 standard are required along with domicile and other related documents. I didn't apply for any other college it was my top most priority and i get in there.

Faculty

We have phenomenal teaching stafff. The student teacher ratio is 1:6 approximately. Every teacher is like a parent and guide to us. I like Geetanjali mam , Sektu sir and kusum mam the most . They treat us like theror own child they provide ilus with every new opportunity we should take part in.

Night Life

Night life in shimla is a topic of debate. We often enjoy night outs but there are some restrictions as well because of the wild animals. We have magnificent cafes to go out with friends. There are various hangout spots like Mall road , Ridge , Jakhoo temple, Potter hills etc.

HPNLU- A SERENE EXPERIENCE

Placement Experience:

let me clear this out the placements are not great as it looks but they are trying to place students and expanding the placements cell that students would get the opportunity and only a small number of companies visits campus and many students mostly obtain internship/ placements outside of the campus process the placement cell is still maturing

Ups and Downs of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla by Mayra Nargotra

Placement Experience:

College does provide placement however not up to the mark. The placement cell is working hard to provide the best for its students, rest the NLU tag really matters and fetches students work if not from the campus but independently as well. I personally have no plans to go for a placement and so do several others at HPNLU they are focused on judiciary or other government exams.

Well Qualified University in the eye of myself

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students are eligible to get placement in campus. There so many companies visited in the campus placement such as Yash Appliances, Scorpions ltd., and other tech or pharmaceutical companies. My mentor tell me about one girl who had offered highest package in the campus placement she is from the Management department b.com course. Its around 37 lakh per annum. 60% of students out of 100% to get placement in campus. My plan after degree is to serve a firm as a corporate lawyer or if no than i open Advisory office.

the curse curriculum is divided very proficiently such that there is no pressure on the students as well as the teachers. although there is very less interaction and experience with the legal field and other works. no practical as such. there must be more court visits and internshios under certain senior lawyers and others.

Placement is not for my course. But some course you can get placement like MBA, B.tech etc. And in 3rd semester you are eligible for placement in that courses. No offer made because placement are not for my course. Highest average offer is like 5lakh. 90 to 95 % students get placements.
