Likes

campus is large with with beautiful garden and central sitting area. 1 cafe along with two canteens.

Dislikes

unfriendly crowd. Have to walk minimum 20 minutes to reach collage as bus stop is really far.

Course Curriculum Overview

as i am c.a student so it is very convinient for me to opt this course as 70%of syllabus are same.ofcourse there are some improvement to be made in this course by adding more practical subjects to make you job or industry ready.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee struture is semester wise,the total fee of course is in my college(shri guru gobind singh)is 104,310.Their will be concession in fee for students who participate in university zonal youth competiton.also /-800 is charged in each year for admission form .

Campus Life

overall experinceis good their is acess to library with id cards only,you can take any book for specific period of time.their are 3 clubs rotract club etc.their are many portal in social media pages runned by students for eg. sggscolleg26 in instagram.

Admission

admission takes place on merit basis for u.t and non ut students,means students who are from chandigarh or completed their schooling in chandingarh are given more prefrence comapared to non u.t students.i applied for d.a.v college sector 10 but i got admission here.3 merit list are relased and in 3rd studenst from outside chandigarh are given preference. their is no cuet exam in panjab university collages.

Faculty

The student and faculty relationship is good, as there are different offcies of every faculty in their respective department.i personally like b.com faculty bacause as many professors are my known and they resolve my any query in short time.in my course( b.com) there are total 6 exams in each semester along with certificates courses which you opt for youself.the course curriculm is neutrally relevent.the difficulty level of every exam is neutral.

Night Life

hostels timing is 8 a.m to 10a.m for boys and for girls closing is 9 a.m.there is gym 3 cafeterias and 1 cafe .butterfly garden is closest hanging sport.their are so many famous cafes in our college sector.in collage the famous hanging place is central tree area along with pharamacy canteen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .
