Course Curriculum Overview

I'm happy zoology as my major honours and microbiology as minor for my first two semesters and botany as the next. Interdisciplinary courses are offered and can be chosen by the students, each one per semester for three consecutive semesters. Skill enhancement courses, constitutional value courses, and language courses are also available.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 24600 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunities vary according to different departments and different semesters. In my department, internship opportunity we're provided in ornithology research, junior research program, computer coding etc. very few are paid

Fees and Financial Aid

The college is overall good, although there are no college fests, participation in other college fests are pretty active. The seniors of my department are approachable and friendly. The college has reservation for minorities and reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC. My yearly fees is nearly 24600/- and hostel fees is 55000/- per year. The all girls hostel is about 5minutes from the college. The college has no elevator or ac classrooms. Only the laboratories are air conditioned.

Campus Life

The campus is a large area covered in greenery, the college organisation has NGO volunteering, inter department sports and quiz competitions, internships (both paid and unpaid) and also organises various seminars related to academics or general awareness

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is average according to the affordability. There is two times meal per day, twenty four hour electricity and water supply. The hostel is a four storied building with elevator and staircase. Although the rooftop is not open for boarders. The hostel gate closes by 8:30pm

Admission

I chose this college because it is graded 'A' by NAAC and IQAC assured. It has a rich heritage and glorious legacy of alumnis. It is one of top hundred colleges in India and location wise, it is in the heart of the North Kolkata city

Faculty

The faculty of my department are knowledgeable, and well endorsed in their respective fields, they are helpful and friendly. Syllabus is covered in time, practice tests are conducted periodically. Failure rate is low

Night Life

There is swimming club near our college campus, a park and many cafeterias and fast food restaurants. The college has a gymnasium available on alternate days for boys and girls. There is a movie theatre nearby and the market place is also beaming with all kinds of necessities.

Remarks:

For my course this University was appropriate and yes Kolkata is near to my hometown than Delhi, Pune or Bangalore. I read reviews about this college and there were positive comments about this college although Noida campus is much older than Kolkata campus so it would be great taking admission in Noida campus. Also Amity University Noida is the main campus. As per my course there were not much colleges in Kolkata and I don't want to go far. Since, now I am studying in this college I have seen professors giving their best to make us understand everything and even prepare us to work on different projects by guiding us and giving us assignment which influence us to explore different topics and learn more. The lab and library facilities are great here. And for fun and entertainment college conducts different functions and programs which encourages our creativity.

I'll be all positive about college. Being from a middle class family of Jamshedpur, it was really great to study there. Maybe I found a new myself there because of all the love and affection I received from everyone in college. Our principal and teachers were so kind and loved us so much. I really don't have an idea about what people think about college, but it was really home for me. It's a great atmosphere for someone moving out of home for the first time. It was good to be a part of that college

You have to pass the 12 th boards with above 90% marks then only you'll get the college. They always have the application form and all the informations in there official college website. There was reservation policies as I was sc so it was a little bit low cut off for my reservation. The exam pattern and difficulty level was a little bit hard. The admission process was fully online and convenient. eligibility of my course is above 75% in PCB subjects in 12th grade. online application and everything related to admission is available on the website. Scottish Church College doesn't take any admission test. The college admits students on the basis of their board exams. So likewise I got admitted to the college through my board exam marks. The eligibility of the course is the percentage of one's board exam marks. The application form can be found in internet on the college's official website, and further more details,like application fees, application dates etc are given on the college website. If anyone asks me that what aspects of the admission process I didn't like, my simple answer is there is nothing that I didn't like about the admission process.
