The admission is through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the CLAT consortium. I applied to other colleges based on the scores of the same exam. I had applied for VIT (Chennai), NFSU (Gujarat), and Saveetha and got admission in all three of them. I've apllied for multiple colleges and before Tamil Nadu National Law University, I applied to VITSOL and got selected. I didn't attend the college but the fee structure would be the major difference between the two colleges as in VITSOL, I had to pay over 4 Lakhs per annum and also the educational standard varies as TNNLU is exclusive under Clat consortium and also they are a privilged institution exclusively established for law by the State. I've not been rejected from any college that I have applied for, the admission process is through clearing CLAT exam. All admissions to this university are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test. Through the website, one can register for the examination by paying 5000 as admission fee. Upon the release of the results, based on the score university releases 5 rounds of counseling sheets along with the selected candidates. The cut-off is 60 -70 in CLAT. To be honest, the admission process takes quite a lot of time (1 month at least).
