The environment of the campus is so studpent friendly, studying environment is quite good . Practical approach of teachers is fascinating
On time examination, regular examinations on time
Good internet, Library,and student oriented facilities,bus facilities

Dislikes

High intake capacity of students probably 200 students per batch that makes difficult for teachers to handle class
No sports activities,lack of sports coaches in university
Lack of heating system in university during harsh winters

Course Curriculum Overview

As a horticulture student,the faculty members provide one to one practical interaction,that catches students interest in the subject The exams are of moderate level The teachers are using digital projectors for class They use Power point presentation to deliver lectures

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 20900 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee I paid was 20900 per year. Scholarship is merit cum scholarship provided by university to Meritorious students (10k per year) and nsp scholarship .(8700 per year) My junior batches are paying 18900 per semester

Campus Life

The university is socially, culturally and technically very friendly to all students University organises three week foundation programme every year under the name iritiqa Independence day , republic day and other religious and cultural programmes are frequently organised in the campus All books and journals are available in books and e book forms Sports festivals are also organised every year

Admission

I appeared in neet and jee mains I got selected in jee mains but I didn't join that Because of my keen interest in horticulture I didn't not applied for any other college or institute I got admission in the campus through University entrance test

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is 0.2 . faculty members are student friendly highly qualified and professional expertise in their fields having practical approach of teaching There are 2 semesters in one year . In each semester there are following exams Mid term exam End term exam Quizzes -2 Practical exams and viva

Night Life

There are canteens in university campuses, hostels Library is there that remains open from 9 am to 9 pm Gym is there in every hostel Place is very safe to roam outside campus Whole campus is awesome to roam at night

SKUAST-K from the view of its student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture subject is practical oriented and you will enjoy visiting agriculture fields and that was the sole reason i choose this field. The curriculum is well designed and you will not feel any problem while helping farmers in real world.. Improvement needed in practical work i.e more practical work should be done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Agriculture is practical oriented course that's why i chose it and it takes me to my roots as my father is also farmer. Practical knowledge of this course prepares me for real world. Course curriculum must be practical along with book knowledge and teaching should be interactive. In 6 month semester we give two times exam and exams are easy.

agriculture University with high potential for a great future

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course was the very best chance i had to get in a government college which ahd the best chance to get a decent job as this sector had good carrer opportunities curriculum was a little outdated as it gave a lot of insight on real word application theoretically but lacked practical application more practical and lab work could help curriculum and encouraging the faculty to teach with more interest the exams happen twice every semester also practical exam takes place as well the level of difficulty of exam was decent, didn't require much studying to pass and could easily score good grade if u are regular in class and study the night before exams

For Jammu and Kashmir students there is UET UG exam and for other states students they will get admission through ICAR councelling after giving CUET exam. I didn't applied for any other college my first and last choice was this college and i got it. For admission in this college : If you are residing in J&K you have to give UET Ug exam which is conducted by SKUAST-K and after that you will get admission on merit base. If you are not residing in J&K then you can come through ICAR counselling after clearing CUET Ug exam. Cut off is high so prepare well....Read More

I only applied to this college due to its good NIRF ranking and also heard of the better environment here. I gave NEET exam but not able to crack that. To enter here you have to give SKUAST- K UET exam if you are from J&K and if you are from other states then you can take admission via ICAR councelling based on CUET exam. Most students came through SKUAST K UET and remaining through ICAR councelling. SKUAST K UET cut off vary from category to Category out of 135 UR- 80-90 ST - 60- 70 SC 50-60 OBC - 60-70 ALC - 65-75 Admission process is easy and smooth and also done offline at SKUAST K Shalimar campus...Read More
