Remarks

The college is decent but with more care and support it has the capability to achieve greater heights. More focus should be laid on sports as well as on the provision of new equipments in all the laboratories.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is three years long divided into three years. Each year exam consists of two honours main papers as well as a practical exam. The exam for extra selected subjects takes place after the honours exam.

Placement Experience

2

Placements opportunities are below average. Since the placement cell is newly formed, students are self-dependent for searching for jobs. However the teaching staff are helpful and use their contacts as well as ex-students for finding job opportunities.

College Events

3.5

All the events are celebrated gracefully. Holi, teacher's day and annual function are held every year. All the students attend these events and have fun together. The principal is the chief organising person and hosts all sorts of functions in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee depends on the subject taken and is feasible due to the government aid received. The needy students are given concessions in fees. Fees maybe paid annually, quarterly or monthly. Extra expense depends on the extra facilities opted for.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are given to the deserving based on academic or non-academic performance. Economically disturbed students can avail for loans or concessions. The students union is quite helpful in this matter and personally helps the students.

Campus Life

3.5

The labs are well equipped and well maintained. Sports activites are limited. Extra curricular activities like debate, sports day, recitation, etc are regularly organized. There may be inter- or intra- departmental competitions with prizes.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are helpful and guide the freshers. An alumni meet is organised every year for the new batch to meet the alumni. All the alumni are well established with some even pursuing their PhD abroad like Oxford University, etc.

Admission

The admission process depends on the merit list based on Class 12 marks. The marks scored are arranged.and the students are required to submit all the documents including class 12 report card, class 10 admit card and pay slip to support proof of income.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is hard working and pretty supportive. Teaching staff works meticulously and takes care of all academic and non-academic aspect. Practical classes are also taken carefully and students are made to do practicals themselves.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
