MNNIT Allahabad Review

The hostels at mnnit need to be upgraded. The food at the mess should be made delicious. The timings for the girls hostels need to be extended like its for boys hostel. College is near to the railway station, main city.

The course curriculum is updated and upto the required industry demands. The drawback is that practicals related to some topic happen even before you are taught about it in the class. There are total 8 semisters. In each semister, there are two exams- mid sems and end sems with final practicals. In the final year, you will be alloted a project with a mentor. So, you will also be having two project presentations in 7th and 8th sems.

Placements for the CS is 75-80%, IT is 70-80%, EE- 65-70%, ME and Civil is about 40-50% , Chemical- 85-90%, Biotech is less than 65%, ECE- 75-80%.(percent values are approx) Many Software companies visit the campus for the placements. Core companies are relatively less. Consultancies also visit in numbers. Yes, my college provides internships. I have done internship at Reliance Industries. The stipend was 25000 INR/ month for 2 month period. You get to know the real industry, how it works, all the different electrical components i knew in theory got to see in real, did a project on Motor Starting Studies and Arc flash studies. Overall it was really a new learning experience and also i got PPO at Reliance Industries after internship.

There are various fests celebrated at our college- 1. Aavishkar- This is a technical fest of our college. Every branch has its set of competitons during aavishkar. In electrical, we got both hardware, software and some puzzle related events during Avishkar. 2. Culrav- This is the annual cultural fest of our college. Different dance performances, dj nights, ramp walks etc are held. 3. Renaissance- This is for the entrepreneurs where different speakers from big organisations come and give strategies about how to become an entrepreneurs.

Fee structure here is feasible. Its approximately 42000/ semister and the mess fee is about 13000/semister. Being an NIT it is subsidized by the government of India. The overall fee for the entire course is about 4-4.5 lakhs.

I havn't availed any scholarship fascility from the institute. There are several state funded and central funded scholarship schemes for the students of mnnit. They may range between 50000-100000 INR or more. The college offers scholarship to the branch toppers of each year.

There are several clubs in the institute- aeromodelling, music, dance, computer. Several sports fascility like badminton, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball. Annual atheletic meet every year. There are several labs like machine lab, power electronics lab, vlsi lab, seminar halls, extra high votgae lab, instrumentation lab, digital electronics lab, computer center building etc. All these fascilities are good though old. Few Apparatus in these labs dont work. Many of them are very expensive like CROs and probes.

I have opted for the hostel There are several boys hostel- SVBH, Tandon, Tagore, Patel, Malviya, Raman. There is one girls hostel- KNGH. The SVBH is the new hostel where the 1st years are accomodated. The SVBH has 3 person/ room. Rooms are big enough. SVBH had table tennsi rooms, TV rooms, Computer room, cafeteria, mess. The other hostels are old, with 2person/ room with very less space. The hostels have tv room with a separate Student Activity Center for playing table tennis, drumming and music stuff. There's also badminton court in the lawns of all the hostels. There is a common mess for hostels.

The alumini network of the mnnit is very large and strong. We got several of them at big posts. We had ias 3rd ranker in 2018. Likewise we had top three ranks in ce in gate 2018. The ceo of one psu is from mnnit. There are several of them working in psus and ies posts. They are useful in a way that you can approach them to get tips regarding preparation and stuff.

1. I gave jee mains exam. 2. I got rank of 4281. 3. After that, gave the jee advanced exam, got 12801 rank. 4. On the JOSSA portal, applied for all the colleges including iits and nits. 5. Colleges were put according to priority. 6. After first round of counselling, i got the seat at MNNIT, Allahabad. 7. I freezed my option, and got the seat and took the admission.

The faculty of the college are well experienced, highly qualified, and take regular classes seriously. Though the classes might get boring sometimes, but the overall learning experience is good. Almost all the faculty has done Phd and a hell lot of research work which is good when you are working under them during project work.
