Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum is designed by UPTU which is relatively old. But our college makes sure to train us as per the skills required to get placed in the market. Moreover, the autonomous status of this college is under review . Once the college gets autonomous, new syllabus and courses would be designed by college. Love for Mechanics compelled me to chose civil engineering. Frequent lab and industrial visits help us to learn relevant application of our textbook knowledge. Scope for improvement could be joint ventures with some prestige organisations . This would help students with industrial trainings and great learning experience. Two class tests and one final sems are conducted within a year. Level - Moderate.

Internships Opportunities

5

Five students got shortlisted for L&T Young Fellowship Program and three of them were able to convert it into pre placement offers. Ten students were shortlisted for Tata Steel and one student was able to convert it. He was offered the post of Graduate Engineer Trainee . Majority of them did their unpaid internship from various government departments like CPWD, UPPWD, DFCCIL etc.

Placement Experience

5

Students are eligible to appear for placement from seventh semester. In Civil Engg Dept 40 students enrolled for campus placement and 28 students were offered jobs till the final semester. L&T Infra, Tata Steel, Prism Cement, ACC Cement are some of the prime recruiters. Highest package offered was 7.5 lpa , lowest 4.2 lpa and median was 5.5 lpa. Profiles offered were Project Associate ,BIM Engineer, Site Supervisor, Area Head (Sales). 70% of students got placed in the first batch of this college from civil engg dept. Currently I am serving as Junior Engineer at DFCCIL (Railways).

Fees and Financial Aid

Total yearly fees = Rs 56400 Tuition fees = Rs 20k, Caution fees = Rs 5k, Registration fees = Rs 5k, Lab and development fees = Rs 10k, Admission fees = Rs 6k, Examination fees = Rs 8k , Other Expenses = Rs 2.4k Fees for all candidates were same. Students from SC , ST community don't have to deposit their fees. Their scholarship amount gets directly adjusted in college fees. There are some fee waiver seats as well, such meritotious students just have to pay 18k yearly.

Campus Life

5

Annual Cultural fest - Abhivyanjana conducted every year after the end of odd semester. (Feb-March) Annual Technical fest - Techkriti conducted in beginning of odd semester.(Aug- Sept). Vast library equipped with more than 20k books and 5k journals. Ventilated, digitally equipped classroom with air conditioning compliments the learning experience. Inter department Sports Meet and our college has been consistent winner since last three years in kabaddi, football and hand ball in Inter College Sports Meet conducted by UPTU. Literary Clubs, Social Service Clubs, Robotics Team , Entrepreneurship Cell are few other minor clubs.

Admission

I had two options VIT Chennai (Metallurgy) and RECM (Civil). Both the colleges were relatively new. VITC high fees and other expenses made me chose RECM. Moreover I had an inclination towards Civil. Admission are on basis of JEE Mains Score. Under rank of 75-80k one can easily land in this college. No GD or PI's are conducted for admission. I messed up my JEE Mains and BITS entrance so had no chance for NIT's and BITS. At our times admission were on basis of UPSEE ranks. My rank was 4923 so only available option was RECM and RECK in govt colleges. Chose RECM because RECK didn't offer civil engg.

Faculty

5

There is no as such fixed faculty to student ratio. Professors holding max expertise in the domain subjects are appointed. HOD's makes sure students relate subjects with real industry knowledge. Young and fun loving professors, easy to approach and will guide you in every aspect of life. Baljeet Yadav - HOD Civil Department, Ex AE in Military Engg Services Saket Russia - Head Placement Cell and Associate Professor Civil Engg Subodh Kumar - Associate Professor Civil Engg, Soil Mechanic is his forte. No faculty is below moderate here. I have already mentioned some great professors. Two class tests and one final semester exam are conducted within a semester. Curriculum is moderate to hard. If one is consistent with the classes he/she can easily clear exams. Course curriculumm is bit old but college makes sure to trainn the students as per current industry requirements.

Night Life

2

Worst nightlife in or around location. College is located at remote location on Agra highway, nearest town is 8 kms from college. Gym , cafeterias, daily needs stores are located within the campus. Nearest town Mainpuri closes by 10 pm. Campus in timings 7 pm for both boys and girls. No such hostel in timings for boys but for girls it is 7 pm . Inside the campus, spot behind workshop is great for lovebirds. Outside the college few fine dining and clubs available. Locality isn't safe around after 10 pm at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Jims is a ipu college, so yeah curriculum depends entirely on ipu University. First year is similar for all btech courses. Or is easy to earn marks in lab and soft skill subjects but maths or physics is hard. Your 12th basics should be very good, else these two subjects will affect your overall SGPA badly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course structure is good of btech but there there is only thing I don't like is that in btech course the subjects in first year are not related to career of students because there is physics, chemistry other irrelevant subjects present in first year but in second year the course become interesting and relevant. Curriculum is good and prepare well for real world applications. The exams comes frequently every month there is a class test but class tests are moderate on the basis of there difficulty level.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements in the final year. The college offers basic placement training and assistance. Some local and local-level comanies even visit for campus recruitment with average offers. Average package: 2-4 LPA, highest around 9-10 LPA 60-90 percent students get placed. My plan is to develop my skills and attain a good job or go for higher studies after degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly speaking I don't like the curriculum of my college. Everything is same which people studied 20 years ago . Only few things has been changed and I don't understand why we need to study about things which don't have any existence in reality. They should focus on current tech and provide more learning opportunities in AI.

course curriculum is little bit out-dated, and improvements are needed in terms of syllabus. timing of exams are ok ok. so many assignments are given which is really hectic because their are deadlines to upload those assignments in google classroom. and one thing i hate about college is 75% attendence is must. due to this we do not get much time for our personal development.
