Likes

The Best thing about IIT delhi is the facilities and the fellow students you get there. you are surrounded by people who the best minds of the country
The Sports facility at IITD is absolutely amazing. The Mittal sports complex is top notch and has almost evry sports facility
The freedom students get in IIT Delhi is absolutely amazing. You are never asked where You are going and what time you will come back

Dislikes

The Hostels at IITD are very very old . Only the common rooms have air conditioning.Room of students dont have Ac's which makes it difficult for the students in Summers
The Restriction that boys and girls cant go in each other's hostels is absolutely very annoying
The drainage system at IITD needs some work. The monsoon season at the campus is not pleasing at all

Course Curriculum Overview

Textile Dept was the only Branch that was available to me in accordance to my rank. There are many options if you want to go in research fields. The profs at IITD of the textile department are really good . The exams are somewhat difficult. But with adequate preparation one may find the exams easy

Placement Experience

IITD is known for it placements. The average package offered here is 21.9 LPA which is quite good and about 90.01% students were olaced in 2023 which is also a very good percentage. Some of the best companies also visited the campus

Fees and Financial Aid

The Year wise fees to be paid by a btech student in IIT delhi is about Rs 3.2 Lacs but if you are an SC/ST/PWD student , you'll have to pay only the hostel fees and some other fees which is around Rs 1 lac rupees per year. Rebates to OBC and EWS students are also provided. the fees has been increased over the years

Campus Life

A lot of events and fests happend in iitd every year which Include The rendezvous and the Tryst . almost all the books need during the course are available at IIT delhi. Sports and Cultural heritage opportunities u get in the campus are also top notch. Almost all the clubs are run by students

Hostel Facilities

In a Room a student is provided with an almirah, a bed , a table and chair along with a shelf. And int the first two year most of the students get triple sharing rooms. The meals provided depend on hostel to hostel. The hostels are really affordable

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

I Gave the IIT JEE advanced exam and qualified it and got this college. I also had IITR and IITG in my options list . But IIT delhi was on top of the list so i had no regrets choosing this. I chose this because overall NIRF rank of IITD is better

Faculty

The Faculty at IIT delhi is absolutely amazing . The amount of knowledge they possess is immense. Professors from all around the world and the nation teach at IITD. The faculty at IITD is very approachable. Although it is not sometimes possible to ask a doubt in the class . But after classes the profs can be contacted. And special doubt classes are also provided. Some Profs which i personally like are Abhishek Dixit sir and Biplab Basak sir. Some Profs which I dislike are Saswata Bhattacharya and Joyee Ghosh

Night Life

The Night Life at the campus is really amazing. No restrictions at all. Gym is open almost all the time and cafes too are open 24*7 . No hostel timings are there . You can come and leave campus at any time of the day. The most famous place to hangout in campus is CCD and outside it is SDA market

Placement Experience:

The placement was not too good it was bad the main reason was like it have not in better place if student want to grab an offer he do offcampus apply so they get job .The companies visted our collage was tcs ,infosys , wipro and sometime Amazon. The highest pacakge was offers in 2020 for almost like 30LPA after that non of them get that much placement .In simple wprd you are the reason of your too get placed in companies . In our collage not fang companies offerd placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good especially during recession. You're eligible for placements after 3rd year. After 2nd Year you're eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google Microsoft Apple Goldmansachs Mckinsey etc. Highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA (Atlassian) Average of CSE is 17 -18 lpa . almost 53% people get placed in 2025 (recession time). See The degree OF DTU has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go for off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate here is around 70-75% on an avg in all branches and sometimes even higher. After 1st year only , multiple opportunities starts coming . After 1st year and before 2nd year , basically in summer vacation we have to do a compulsory internship (college also provides) and we are provided a credit for that . Then multiple opportunities like GOOGLE STEP ,amacon internship , etc come.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semester all students are eligible for campus placements there are almost more than 30+ companies come to make offers and don't recall the names but almost 34 lakh per annum is the highest package they offer and some lucky students also get 80 lakh per annum package almost 80 percent students get placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In each sem we have to give exams twice - mid terms and end terms. They are not much difficult the level is moderate. Teaching method is also good bit sometimes they are not able to complete the syllabus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The corses are well designed And related to your curiculum evey course are relevent for student the course they provied in first sem are Math,computational thinking,Intoduction to south asia,ENG,Phy. most of collages have mechanical in their first sem where they have to do weilding ,crafting etc which have no use in course of CS.

IITD is an old IIT and has an entrepreneurial atmosphere making it my first choice.I applied for the some other colleges I am comparing with ahead. Fulfilling experience at IITD.

Bachelors is required with 55% atleast. JAM score is required. Cut off for obc was 33 as far as I remember . The entrance test tests your quantitative and qualitative ability. All the details are given on the website of iit delhi or just typing JAM would do. JAM gives you the opportunity to do your msc economics from iits. Admission to IITD occurs through JEE Advanced; In which an individual had to first clear JEE Mains then ADV. They have to prepare for three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; concepts must be clear from the base level. As soon as the application form will be released; news will come in newspapers since it's a national-level exam or you can search on the Official Jee mains website. Application fees for Jee Mains in 2022: 650/- and for Jee ADV: 2800/-(not sure). Application dates will be released on the official website. To avail of reservation benefits you must have a category certificate that had been renewed within 6 months from counseling (FOR OBC-NCL). If from SC-ST, then can use any certificate.
